MeitY Notifies Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025
On 13th November 2025, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India (GoI), notified the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Rules, 2025, operationalizing the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act, 2023).
Phased Implementation:
- Rules 1, 2, 17–21: Effective from 13th November 2025 (covering the Data Protection Board’s constitution and procedures).
- Rule 4: Effective from 13th November 2026 (Registration and obligations of Consent Managers).
- Rules 3, 5–16, 22–23: Effective from 13th May 2027 (18 months later) (covering core obligations like consent, notices, and data breach reporting).
Key Provisions :
Scope: Establish procedures, obligations, and safeguards for collection, processing, storage, and erasure of personal data.
Consent & Notices: Data Fiduciaries must provide clear, itemised notices detailing personal data collected, purpose, and withdrawal mechanisms (Rule 3).
Consent Managers: Must register with the Data Protection Board (DPB) (Rule 4).
Breach Notification: Notify affected users and DPB within 72 hours with details and mitigation steps.
Data Retention & Erasure: Personal data must be erased once purpose is served; data principals notified 48 hours prior (Rule 9). Logs and essential records retained for a minimum one year.
DPDP Board Composition: Chairperson and 3 Members, appointed through search-cum-selection committees chaired by the Cabinet Secretary (for Chairperson) and Secretary, MeitY (for Members).

Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan Inaugurates 30th CII Partnership Summit from November 14 to 15, 2025, in Visakhapatnam, AP

On November 14, 2025, the Vice President of India C.P. Radhakrishnan inaugurated the 30th edition of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Partnership Summit, which will continue till November 15, 2025, in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh (AP).
- Union Minister Piyush Goyal virtually laid the foundation stones for Drone City and Twin Space Cities in AP.
Highlights of the 30th CII Partnership Summit:
Theme: The 2025 edition was held under the theme titled “Technology, Trust and Trade: Navigating the New Geoeconomic Order”.
Organizers: The summit was jointly organized by CII, Government of AP, with support from the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), MoC&I.
MoUs signed: During the summit, the Government of AP secured Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) worth Rs.11.92 lakh crore, encompassing 35 MoUs worth Rs. 3.65 lakh crores were signed ahead of the summit, in five key sectors such as Power & Green Energy, Electronics, Tourism, Renewable Energy (RE), and Biorefineries and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).
Drone City and Twin Space Cities in AP:
Drone City: The drone city, spanning 300 acres at Orvakal in Kurnool (AP), is designed to become India’s central hub for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) drone innovation, manufacturing, skilling, and certification.
Financial Support: Government of AP will offer a 20% capital subsidy, 100% reimbursement of State Goods and Services Tax (SGST), along with fast-track approvals and ready plug-and-play infrastructure.
Twin Space Cities: The Twin Space Cities, a pair of integrated, high-technology hubs, located in Tirupathi and Sri Sathya Sai districts of AP, aims to make AP, the Space-Tech Capital of India.
- The project is expected to attract investment of Rs.25,000 crores.
Financial Support: Government of AP will implement a dedicated AP SpaceTech Policy 4.0 (2025-30) and set up a Rs.100 crore AP SpaceTech Fund to promote startups and R&D.

The President of India Droupadi Murmu was on a three-day official visit to Botswana from November 11 to 13, 2025, marking the first-ever state visit by an Indian President to Botswana.This visit marked the final leg of her state tour to Angola and Botswana.
Highlights of President Draupadi Murmu’s Visit to Botswana:
Bilateral Meeting: President Draupadi Murmu was welcomed by President of Botswana Duma Gideon Boko at his office in Gaborone. They held one-to-one talks, followed by delegation-level meetings and discussed expanding cooperation in areas such as trade and investment, Renewable Energy (RE),agriculture, health, skill development, defence, and digital technology.
Key Visits: On November 12, 2025, President Murmu began her visit by visiting the Diamond Training Company Botswana (DTCB) in Gaborone.
- She addressed the National Assembly of Botswana and also visited the Three Dikgosi Monument in Gaborone.
MoUs signed: During the visit, India and Botswana signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Pharmacopoeial cooperation, enabling harmonisation of pharmaceutical quality standards, facilitating smoother access for Indian medicines in Botswana.
- An MoU was signed by India and Botswana to recognize the Indian Pharmacopoeia (IP) as a reference “book of standards” for medicines in Botswana, becoming the 18th country to recognize the IP as a Pharmacopoeial standard.
8 Cheetahs Donated:On November 13, 2025, President Draupadi Murmu, along with Botswana President Duma Boko, visited the Molokodi Nature Reserve.

In November 2025, India Ratings and Research (Ind-Ra), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fitch Group, projected India’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth at 7.2% for 2nd Quarter (Q2: July to September) of Financial Year 2025-26 (FY26), driven mainly by robust private consumption and a resilient services sector.
- This growth projection is higher than the 5.6% growth rate recorded in Q2FY25 but lower than the 7.8% growth rate in Q1(April to June) of FY26, the fastest pace in five quarters.

In November 2025, Renowned Environmentalist and Padma Shri awardee Saalumarada Thimmakka, famously known as “tree woman of India”, passed away at the age of 114 in Bengaluru, Karnataka. She was born on June 30, 1911 in Gubbi Taluk, Tumakuru district in Karnataka.
- In 2019, she was honoured with Padma Shri, India’s 4th highest civilian honor, in the field of Social Work.

About Jawaharlal Nehru:
Early Life:Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru was born in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh(UP), on November 14, 1889. In 1912, he enrolled as an advocate at the Allahabad High Court(HC), UP.
Political Beginnings: In 1919, he joined the Indian National Congress (INC) and became the General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee in September 1923.
Leadership: He served multiple terms as the President of the INC and was the PM of the interim Indian Government between 1946 and 1950.
PM of India: He became the first PM of independent India and held office continuously for nearly 17 years, from 1947 until his death on May 27, 1964.
Literary Contributions: His notable works include Letters from a Father to His Daughter (1929), Glimpses of World History(1934), Towards Freedom: The Autobiography of Jawaharlal Nehru(1936), and The Discovery of India(1946).
