Cabinet approved MoU between NITI Aayog, and Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation (MEDRF) in the field of social, economic, industrial and regional development programs
On September 26, 2018, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved the MoU between National Institute for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog, and Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation (MEDRF).
i. The MOU is in the field of social, economic, industrial and regional development programs.
ii. This will implement strategies and programs of social, economic, industrial and regional development.
iii. The areas of cooperation involves:
- Joint research projects related to issues of mutual interest,
- Exchange of information and research works,
- Organization of seminars, conferences and other meetings on agreed agenda.

Cabinet approved MoU between India and Uzbekistan on the following:
Mutual Cooperation in Combating Illicit Trafficking in Narcotics, Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Precursors
On September 26, 2018, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved the MoU between India and Uzbekistan.
- The MOU is based on mutual cooperation in Combating Illicit Trafficking in Narcotics, Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Precursors.
- It would help in curbing transnational narcotics trafficking.
MoU between India and Uzbekistan on cooperation in pharmaceutical sector
On September 26, 2018, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and Uzbekistan.
i. It is based on increased cooperation in the areas of Trade, Industry, and Research & Development of Pharmaceutical products.
ii. The MoU will be signed during the visit of President of Uzbekistan to India on 1st October 2018.
iii. The MOU involves:
- The production of medicines, including Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) in different therapeutic segments in both countries.
- Exchange information on related matters.
- Increase in cooperation in Trade,  Industry and Research & Development of Pharmaceutical products.
MOU for cooperation in the field of Agriculture and Allied sectors
On September 26, 2018, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved the signing of an Agreement between India and Uzbekistan for cooperation in the field of agriculture and allied sectors.     Â
i. The MOU involves:
- Exchange of information regarding laws, standards and product samples,
- Establishment of joint agriculture clusters in Uzbekistan,
- Exchange  of experience  in  the  field  of crop  production  and seed production,
- Application of technology for enhanced water use including irrigation,
- Joint scientific research on genetics, breeding, biotechnology, plant  protection,  soil  productivity conservation,
- Setting up of food processing joint ventures,
- Exchange of information between research institutes in the fields ofagriculture and food industry.
ii. This Agreement shall remain in force for a period of five (5) years, being automatically extended for a subsequent periods of five (5) years.
MOU on cooperation for establishment of Uzbek-Indian Free Pharmaceutical Zone in the Andijan region of Uzbekistan
On September 26, 2018, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved MOU between India and Uzbekistan for establishment of the Uzbek-Indian Free Pharmaceutical Zone in the Andijan Region of Uzbekistan.
- The MoU will be signed during the visit of President of Uzbekistan to India on 1st October 2018.
- This would help in mutual cooperation in trade, industry and production in the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical sectors.
- It will also enable investments by Indian pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical companies in the region.
MOU on cooperation in the field of Tourism
- On September 26, 2018, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved MOU between India and Uzbekista in the field of Tourism.
- It will be  signed during the VIP visit from Uzbekistan to India on 1st October 2018.
MOU on Cooperation in the Sphere of Law & Justice
On September 26, 2018, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved MOU between India and Uzbekistan on Cooperation in the Sphere of Law & Justice.
i. It would involve:
- Exchange of experience by legal professionals,
- Cooperation between India and Uzbekistan in providing legal services.
MOU on cooperation in health and medical science
On September 26, 2018, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved signing of an Agreement between India and Uzbekistan on cooperation in health and medical science.
i. This involves:
- Development of business cooperation in the field of medical equipment, including teaching and research laboratories,
- Strengthening of primary health care and setting up of health care facilities,
- Maternal and child health protection,
- Development and improvement of the techniques for communicable and non-communicable diseases control,
- Regulation of drugs and pharmaceutical products,
- Exchange in the field of telemedicine and electronic-health information systems.
ii. A Working Group will be set up to oversee the implementation of this Agreement.

Cabinet apprised of the MoU between India and South Korea for enhancing cooperation in Applied Science and Industrial Technology
- On September 26, 2018, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved MoU between India and South Korea on cooperation in Applied Science and Industrial Technology.
- The MoU was signed in New Delhi on 9th July 2018 during the visit of the President of South Korea to India.
South Korea:

Cabinet approved MoU between the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK)
On September 26, 2018, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved MoU between the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).Â
i. It would involve:
- Collaboration in the areas of knowledge sharing through joint research, quality support, capability and capacity building.
- Exchange programmes and
- Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Courses, workshops and conferences.
