On August 29, 2018, the Union Cabinet approved the following agreements with foreign countries.
Cabinet approves signing of MoU between India and Bulgaria in the field of tourism
On August 29, 2018, the Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved the signing of MOU between India and Bulgaria for strengthening cooperation in the field of Tourism.
i. Focus areas are:
- To exchange information and data related to tourism and in Human  Resource Development.
- To exchange visits of Tour Operators / Media /Opinion Makers for promotion of two way tourism.
- To encourage cooperation between tourism stakeholders including Hotels and Tour operators.
Bulgaria:
♦ Capital: Sofia.
♦ Currency: Bulgarian lev.
Cabinet apprised of the MoU between India and Republic of Korea on the cooperation in the field of railways
On August 29, 2018, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved on the cooperation between Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO), India and Republic of Korea Railroad Research Institute (KRRI).
i. This would strengthen and promote scientific and technical cooperation in the field of railways.
ii. The 2 institutes would interact and share the latest developments and knowledge in the railway sector.
iii. Focus areas are:
- Co-operation in setting up of latest railway R&D facilities in India,
- Planning and execution of Technical seminar,
- Short Term Training Programme for RDSO personnel by KRRI,
- Exchange Programme of Personnel between KRRI & RDSO.
Korea:
♦ Capital: Seoul.
♦ Currency: South Korean won.
Cabinet apprised of the MoU between India and United Kingdom and Northern Irelandon the Cooperation in the fields of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries
On August 29, 2018, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved MoU between India and United Kingdom (UK) and Northern Ireland for cooperation in the fields of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries.
i. This would increase the  production and productivity of Indian livestock and fisheries.
ii. Focus areas :
- Management of food and fodder and bulk transportation in deficit areas,
- Development of high tech fodder tree species nurseries with fodder crops,
- Promotion of agro-forestry for fodder trees and integrated farming system including soil moisture conservation,
- Areas of exchange of scientific personnel for study tour/training,
- Collaboration for joint research for cross-learning.
UK:
♦ Capital: London.
♦ Currency: Pound Sterling.
Northern Ireland:
♦ Capital: Belfast.
♦ Currency: Pound Sterling.
Cabinet approves signing of Air Services Agreement between India and Morocco
On August 29, 2018, the Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved the revised air services agreement between India and Morocco.
i. Main features of the Agreement are:
- Multiple designation of Airlines by each party,
- Allows designated airlines of either countries to establish offices in the territory of other country for the promotion and sale of air services,
- Indian designated carriers can operate any number of services to/from Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakesh, Agadir, Tangier and Fez in Moroccoand
- Morocco can operate any number of services to/from New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai,  Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
ii. After this comes to effect, the existing Air Services Agreement of December, 2004 shall stand superseded.
Morocco:

Cabinet approves Trade Cooperation Framework between India and Rwanda
On August 29, 2018, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved the trade cooperation framework between India and Rwanda.
i. It will facilitate better trade and economic relations between the two countries.
ii. It was signed on 23rd July, 2018.
Rwanda:
♦ Capital: Kigali.
♦ Currency: Rwandan franc.
Cabinet approves Memorandum of Understanding between India and USA in insurance regulatory sector
On August 29, 2018, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved the signing of an MoU between Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) and the Federal Insurance Office, USA.
i. Focus areas are:
- Exchange of information and research assistance,
- Mutual assistance including training activities,
- Cooperation on international standard-setting activities, financial stability and
- Consumer protection.
USA:
♦ Capital: Washington D.C.
♦ Currency: US Dollar.
