On August 20, 2020 As part of implementation of the YSR Cheyutha scheme, Andhra Pradesh(AP) government has signed an Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) with Reliance Retail, Reliance Jio Infocomm and Allana Group to empower women and help women Self-Help Groups(SHGs) in the state to market their products.

The MoUs were signed in the presence of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Ministers P. Ramachandra Reddy and S. Appala Raju, Principal Secretaries Gopal Krishna Dwivedi and Praveen Prakash among others.
Provisions of the MoU
Reliance Retail
JioMart Kirana
i.Reliance Retail will support the micro-grocery women retailers through the ‘JioMart Kirana’ stores, which will be digitally equipped and act as online stores.
ii.This will help JioMart to create new economic opportunities for micro-women entrepreneurs by extending the benefits of the JioMart Kiranas initiative.
Buy Harvested Produce & Provide Inputs
i.It will buy harvested produce directly from women farmers without middlemen, which will increase realisation.
ii.It will provide inputs for cultivation, harvesting, sorting and packing to increase output and add incremental value at the farm.
Reliance Fresh Fruits and Vegetables farmer connect programme
It will also support Women farmers through Reliance Fresh Fruits and Vegetables farmer connect programme.
Establish micro groceries- It will help establish micro groceries, modernise and digitise their stores.
Training & provisions– It will help women to run grocery retail shops, train them and provide them provisions at competitive prices.
Reliance Jio Infocomm
i.The tie-up is to establish a direct linkage between the government and beneficiaries for seamless implementation and monitoring.
ii.It will support the Government to connect to its beneficiaries using features of Jio Chat and will support the beneficiaries through its unique program called Jio Associate Program by promoting various Jio products and earn incremental revenues
Allana Group
i.The Allana Group, one of the largest exporters of processed food, will extend technical support for rearing buffalos, cows, goat and sheep.
ii.It will provide modern packing methods and help in exports. It will also provide assistance to the women entrepreneurs to establish feed units and to retail sale of hygienic meat.
Note– The government had already entered into MoU with AMUL, HUL, ITC and P&G for supporting the YSR Cheyutha beneficiaries in the dairy and retail businesses
Schemes Launched
YSR Aasara
AP Govt will launch YSR Aasara scheme shortly, under which the debt burden of the SHGs, amounting to about Rs 6,700 crore per annum, will be carried by the state.
YSR Cheyuta
Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy, Chief Minister of AP launched a scheme called YSR Cheyuta. Under this, a financial assistance of Rs 18,750 will be given to 25 lakh women each, aged between 45 and 60, who belong to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Backward Class(BC) and minority communities annually and help them take up productive activities.
Note– AP Govt will spend Rs 11,000 crore every year for women empowerment.
