On 12th July 2021, the State government of Andhra Pradesh (AP) signed MoUs (Memorandum of Understanding) with 14 different companies under its women empowerment scheme ‘YSR Cheyuta Scheme’. The collaboration aims to improve the livelihood of 6 lakh women through business opportunities with the companies.
i.This collaboration will help women entrepreneurs for sales of their products with the companies.
ii.So far, a total of Rs 8,000 crore has been credited to 24 lakh women in two instalments under the YSR Cheyutha scheme

About YSR Cheyutha Scheme:
Aim – To assist women from Minority communities (SC, ST, BC) through financial aid which can be used as a capital investment for other businesses
- Age Group – Women between 45 to 60 years of age
- Duration – 4 years
- Financial assistance – A total of Rs 75,000 – given in 4 equal yearly instalments of Rs 18,750
