Digital Redressal: Government’s E-Jagriti portal resolves over 1.27 lakh cases: MoCAFPDIn November 2025, the Department of Consumer Affairs (DoCA)’s Unified Digital Platform, e-Jagriti, which enables consumers to file and track grievances with all consumer commissions, had attracted over 2.75 lakh registered users.

• The platform has handled nearly 1.30 lakh cases since its launch on January 1 2025.

E-Justice And Grievance Redressal through Information Technology and Innovation (E-Jagriti)
Initiative: It is a flagship initiative of the Department of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food &Public Distribution (MoCAFPD), aimed at strengthening the consumer dispute redressal system across the country.
Purpose: It enables consumers to file complaints, track case statuses, and access judgments online.

• It focuses on the computerization and networking of all Consumer Commissions at the national, state, and district levels to ensure transparency, efficiency, and speedy resolution of consumer disputes.

Inclusive Features: The platform’s inclusive features include multilingual interface, chatbot assistance, voice-to-text support for visually impaired and elderly users, and end-to-end encryption which enhance accessibility, transparency, and user security.
Salient Features: It integrates consumer grievance platforms such as Online Case Monitoring System (OCMS), E-Daakhil, the National Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission (NCDRC) and Computerisation and Computer Networking of Consumer Forums (CONFONET) on a single platform.
Key Highlights 
Non-Resident Indians (NRIs): The OTP (One Time Password) registration feature of e-Jagriti enables NRIs to file complaints, make digital payments, participate in virtual hearings, exchange documents online, and track cases in real time, eliminating the need for physical presence in India.

• The 2.75 lakh registered users include around 1388 NRIs.

Major Participation: The maximum number of NRI complaints have originated from the following countries:

• United States of America (USA) – 146 complaints
• United Kingdom (UK) – 52
• United Arab Emirates (UAE) – 47

Complaints: As of November 13, 2025, a total of 1,30,550 complaints have been lodged nationwide, with high adoption in states like Gujarat (14,758 cases), Uttar Pradesh (UP) (14,050 cases) and Maharashtra (12,484 cases).

India merchandise and services exports rise 4.84% to USD491.8 billion in April–October: MoCIIn November 2025, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) reported that India’s combined merchandise and services exports reached an estimated USD 491.8 billion (bn) in the first seven months of Financial Year 2025-26 (FY26, April–October 2025).

• This reflects a 4.84% increase from USD 469.11 bn recorded during the same period last year.

Imports: The total import during April-October 2025 is estimated at USD 569.95 bn registering a growth of 5.74%.
Exports: The merchandise exports during April-October 2025 were USD 254.25 bn as compared to USD 252.66 bn during April-October 2024.
October 2025
Imports: The Total imports (Merchandise and service combined) for October 2025 are estimated at USD 94.70 bn, registering a 14.87% growth over October 2024.
Exports: India’s total exports (Merchandise and Services combined) for October 2025 is estimated at USD 72.89 bn, registering a negative (-) 0.68% over October 2024.

GoI Approved 17 Projects with Rs 7,172 Crore Investment under ECMSIn November 2025, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) announced that the Government of India (GoI) has approved 17 new projects with a total investment of around Rs 7,172 crore as part of 2nd tranche under the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS), aimed to boost the production of electronic goods and their component within the country.

• The announcement of these projects were made during an event titled Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme “The Foundation for a Globally Competitive Electronics Value Chain”, hosted by India Cellular Electronics Association (ICEA) in New Delhi, Delhi.

Key Details of Approved Projects :
Expected Outcome: These newly approved projects are expected to lead the production of components worth Rs 65,111 crore and generate 11,808 direct job opportunities.
State-wise Distribution of Projects: As per the MeitY, the new approved units will be established across 9 States and Union Territory (UT) namely, Karnataka (5), Maharashtra (3), Tamil Nadu (3), and remaining 6 units i.e. one each in Andhra Pradesh (AP), Goa , Gujarat , Jammu & Kashmir (J&K), Uttar Pradesh (UP) and Madhya Pradesh (MP) .
Key Components: Under the 2nd tranche of ECMS, projects approved will manufacture various type electronic components such as: camera modules, connectors, oscillators, enclosures, out of these target production components, Multi-Layer Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) are expected to draw highest investment i.e. worth Rs 3,183 crore.
Launch of India’s 1st-Gen IP-powered SoC: Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has also launched ‘ARKA-GKT1’, India’s 1st Generation (Gen.) Intelligent Power (IP) platform-on-a-chip, designed for high efficiency edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) and smart energy applications.

• This newly launched chip was developed by Cyient semiconductors Pvt. Ltd. in partnership with Azimuth AI.

GoI Granted GI Tag to Gujarat’s Ambaji White MarbleIn November 2025, the Geographical Indications Registry (GIR) under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoC&I), granted the Geographical Indication (GI) tag under the High-Quality Natural Stone category to Ambaji Marble, a distinctive white marble quarried in Ambaji town, Banaskantha district, Gujarat, with the registration granted to the Ambaji Marbles Quarry and Factory Association.

About Ambaji Marble:
Qualities: Known for its milky-white colour, natural shine, high calcium content, and strong durability.
GI Benefits: The GI tag protects authenticity, boosts market value, and supports local miners and artisans.
Composition: Marble is a metamorphic rock mainly made of calcite (CaCO₃) with minor impurities like clay, mica, quartz, and iron oxides.
About Geographical Indication (GI) Tag:
Significance: A GI tag certifies that a product originates from a specific geographical location and carries unique qualities or reputation linked to that place.
Protection: It offers legal safeguards to GI-tagged products in India, preventing misuse or unauthorized use of their name.
Validity: A GI registration remains valid for 10 years and can be renewed every 10 years thereafter.

8th India-UK Army Exercise ‘Ajeya Warrior’ Commenced in RajasthanOn November 17 2025, the 8th edition of joint bilateral military exercise ‘Ajeya Warrior’ between the Indian Army (IA) and the British Army commenced at the Mahajan Field Firing Ranges (MFFR) in Bikaner, Rajasthan.

• This biennial exercise, scheduled to run till November 30, 2025, aims to strengthen operational synergy in joint counter-terrorism operations in semi-urban environments under Chapter VII of the United Nations (UN) mandate.

About Exercise Ajeya Warrior:
Key Objectives: During the 14-day long exercise, armies of both countries will participate in a series of tactical drills aimed at bolstering operational synergy, interoperability and coordination in complex conflict scenarios.
Key Activities: The military exercise will feature certain activities like: joint planning, drone-based surveillance, casualty evacuation procedures, and mission-based field exercises in simulated battle conditions.
Other Activities: Apart from military drills, the exercise will organise cultural exchanges, sports events, and group interactions aimed at fostering camaraderie, mutual and professional bonding between armies of two countries.
Participating Entities: A 120 infantory company of Indian soldiers from the 6th Battalion Bihar Regiment along with the 2nd Battalion The Royal Gurkha Rifles (2RGR), part of the UK’s Global Response Force participated in the exercise.

• In addition,16 Air Assault Brigade Combat Team (16 Air Aslt BCT) and newly established Combat Aviation.

GSV and DRDO signs MoU to develop Smart Tech Solutions for National Security
In November 2025, Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Ministry of Defence (MoD) and Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalya (GSV) signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop smart technology solutions for national security.

Key Highlights
MoU: The MoU will serve as a platform for collaborative studies and R&D (Research & Development) in Logistics Management and Operational Logistics at tactical, operational, and strategic levels, including concept analysis and validation of operational logistics plans.

• It will also promote joint research in Chip Design, Hardware Security, and advanced encryption technologies such as Homomorphic and Blockchain-based encryption.

Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalya
GSV: It is India’s first university in the Transportation and Logistics sector, established as a Central University by the Act of Parliament in 2022.

• The University covers the entire transportation sector including Railways, Highways, Ports, Aviation, Maritime, Shipping, Inland Waterways, Urban Transport and complete Logistics and supply chain networks.

Sixteenth Finance Commission submits its report to President of India: 2026-27 to 2030-31
In November 2025, the Sixteenth Finance Commission (FC) submitted its report for the distribution of net proceeds of taxes between Centre and States for award period 2026-27 to 2030-31 to Droupadi Murmu, President of India.

• The 16th FC also presented a copy of the report to the Prime Minister (PM) and to the Union Finance Minister (FM). The report shall be available in the public domain once it is tabled in the Parliament by the Union Finance Minister under Article 281.

Key Highlights
FC: The FC established under Article 280 of the Indian Constitution, is a constitutional body that recommends distribution of the net proceeds of taxes between the Union and the States as well as the allocation between the States of the respective shares of such proceeds, grants-in-aid to States, review arrangements on financing Disaster Management initiatives.
16th FC Members: The 16th FC, commencing April 1, 2026, is chaired by Dr Aravind Panagariya and addresses vital responsibilities such as equitable resource distribution, grants-in-aid principles and strengthening local governance.

• The other members of 16th FC are: Ajay Narayan Jha, Annie George Mathew, Niranjan Rajadhyaksha, Soumya Kanti Ghosh.

Master Capital Services Received SEBI’s Approval for MF Sponsorship
In November 2025, Master Capital Services Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Master Trust which is a leading broking and investment platform, received in-principal approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to establish Mutual Fund (MF) business.

• The product seeks to deliver a mix of financial, insurance, lifestyle, and wellness benefits tailored to women’s needs at every phase of their financial planning journey.

About SIB HER Account:
Eligibility & Balance: Available to women aged 18–54, including NRIs, with a monthly balance requirement of Rs. 50,000, which is waived if a Fixed Deposit (FD) of Rs. 1 lakh is maintained or debit card spending reaches Rs. 50,000.

PayU Receives RBI Approval to Operate as Multi-Mode PA
In November 2025, PayU Payments Private Limited, backed by Amsterdam (Netherlands) based global technology investment firm, Prosus, received integrated authorisation from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to operate as a Payment Aggregator (PA) across online, offline (physical), and cross-border transactions, including both inward and outward flows, under the Payment and Settlement Systems (PSS) Act 2007.

About PayU Authorization:
Authorization Scope: PayU enables merchants to accept and settle payments across all channels, supporting over 100 digital methods, including cards, net banking, Quick Response (QR) codes, Unified Payment Interface (UPI), and wallets.
Full-Stack Capability: PayU becomes a full-stack digital payments provider with integrated operational scope.
Merchant Benefits: PayU enables merchants to handle inward and outward cross-border transactions while offering a unified platform for online, in-store, and international payments.

SBI Report: India’s GDP Growth at 7.5% in Q2 FY26
In November 2025, State Bank of India (SBI) Economic Research Department (ERD) released SBI Research Ecowarp report projecting India’s real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth for the second quarter (Q2) of Financial Year 2025-26 (FY26) (July–September 2025) at 7.5%, surpassing the Reserve Bank of India (RBI)’s estimate of 7% for the same period.

• Based on the estimated model, real GDP growth in Q2 FY2026 ranges between 7.5–8.0%, with Gross Value Added (GVA) projected at 8.0%.

Q2 FY26 Growth Drivers:
GST Collections: Gross domestic Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections for November 2025 are projected at Rs 1.49 lakh crore, with total collections exceeding Rs 2 lakh crore including Integrated Goods and Services Tax (IGST) and Compensation Cess.
Inflation: Headline Consumer Price Index (CPI) fell to 0.25% in October 2025, while core inflation (excluding gold) stood at 2.6%.
State Divergence: Kerala recorded the highest inflation at 8.56%, Jammu & Kashmir 2.95%, Karnataka 2.34%, with 12 of 22 states in negative inflation.

Famous Hollywood Actor Tom Cruise Received Honorary Oscar at 16th Governor AwardsIn November 2025, Famous Hollywood Actor and 4-time Oscar Nominee, Tom Cruise received the Academy Honorary Award, also known as Honorary Oscar. The award was presented to him by renowned film director Alejandro Gonzalz Inarritu at the 16th Governor Awards held at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in California, the United States of America (USA).

• Other than Cruise, American choreographer Debbie Allen and production designer Wynn Thomas were also conferred with honorary Oscar.
• Also, renowned American Actress, Songwriter and Philanthropist Dolly Parton was honoured with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, considered as an Oscar statuette.

Presented by: These awards are presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ (AMPAS) Board of Governors.
Background: These awards have been awarded annually since the inception of Academy Awards in 1929.

• However, since 2009, the awards have been presented at the Governors Awards in a separate ceremony.

Categories: The Governor Awards are given across 3 main categories namely:

• Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award: This award recognises a film producer with a great track record of movies.
• The Hersholt Humanitarian Award: This award honours individuals in the motion picture arts and sciences who demonstrate exceptional humanitarian efforts.

Karnataka Introduced KEO, Low-Cost, AI-ready Computer
In November 2025, the government of Karnataka introduced KEO (Knowledge-driven, Economical, Open-source), a low-cost and Artificial Intelligence (AI)-ready Personal Computer (PC) priced at Rs 18,999.

• This new PC was formally launched by K. Siddaramaiah, Chief Minister (CM) of Karnataka at the inaugural ceremony of the 28th edition of Bengaluru Tech Summit (BTS) 2025 held in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Key Features:
Built on: KEO is powered by a 5th Generation Reduced Instruction Set Computer (RISC-V) processor with Linux-based Operating System (OS).
Developed by: This new PC is developed by the state’s department of Electronics, Information Technology (IT) and Biotechnology (BT) in partnership with KEONICS (Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation Limited).
Key Components: This newly launched low-cost PC includes 4G, Wireless Fidelity (Wi-fi), Universal Serial Bus (USB-A), USB-C, and High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) ports, and an audio jack support.

• In addition to these, it also features an on-device AI core which enables AI to run locally without internet access.

AI Tool: It is preloaded with BUDDH, an AI tool trained on the Karnataka DSERT (Department of State Education Research and Training) syllabus to assist students in low-connectivity areas.

• It currently works in English, however, the department plans to support Kannada over time

Strategic Objectives and Impact: With computer penetration below 15% in Karnataka and less than 10% in India, KEO aims to sharply reduce the digital divide.

Former Murugappa Group Chairman ‘Arunachalam Vellayan’ Passed AwayIn November 2025, Chairman Emeritus of Coromandel International Limited one of India’s largest fertiliser companies and Former Chairman of the Murugappa Group Arunachalam Vellayan passed away at the age of 72 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu (TN). He was born on 9 January 1953 in Chennai, TN.

About Arunachalam Vellayan:
Career: Served for several decades at the Murugappa Group, providing strategic direction across its diversified businesses.
Board Memberships: Chaired Coromandel International Limited and EID Parry (India) Limited, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode (IIM-Kozhikode), Kerala.

International Day for Tolerance 2025 – November 16The United Nations (UN) observes the International Day for Tolerance every year on 16 November to highlight the importance of tolerance and foster understanding, respect, and appreciation among diverse cultures and communities.

Background: 
Proclamation: In 1993, the UN General Assembly (UNGA) adopted resolution A/RES/48/126 and proclaimed 1995 as the United Nations Year for Tolerance.
Declaration: In 1996, the UNGA adopted resolution A/RES/51/95, officially designating 16 November of every year as the International Day for Tolerance.
First Observance: The inaugural International Day for Tolerance was observed on 16 November 1996.
Significance of November 16: The date marks the adoption of the Declaration of Principles on Tolerance by UNESCO member states on 16 November 1995.
About Tolerance:
Meaning : Tolerance means respecting, accepting, and appreciating the diverse cultures, expressions, and ways of life around us.
UNESCO’s Role: UNESCO fosters tolerance by promoting peace, democracy, inclusion, education, and freedom of expression supported by the rule of law.
About UNESCO-Madanjeet Singh Prize:
Award: The UNESCO-Madanjeet Singh Prize honors impactful scientific, artistic, cultural, and communication initiatives that promote tolerance and non-violence.
Legacy of Madanjeet Singh: Born on 16 April 1924 in Lahore (then British India), he became a noted author on art and culture.

• In 1995, UNESCO honored his lifelong dedication to harmony by establishing the biennial “UNESCO-Madanjeet Singh Prize for the Promotion of Tolerance and Non-Violence,” awarded every two years on 16 November with a cash prize of USD 100,000.

Indian Laureate :In 1998, Indian activist M. Narayan Desai received the award for promoting religious and ethnic harmony.
 Recent Laureate: The 2024 UNESCO-Madanjeet Singh Prize was awarded to REDIN (Red de Intérpretes y Promotores Interculturales) of Mexico, a network of intercultural interpreters and promoters supporting indigenous communities.

National Epilepsy Day 2025 – November 17National Epilepsy Day (NED) is observed annually across India on November 17, raises public awareness about epilepsy, dispels myths and stigma, and emphasizes the importance of timely diagnosis, treatment, and understanding of this neurological disorder.

Background: 
Declaration: At the General Body meeting of the Indian Epilepsy Association (IEA) held on 17 December 1990 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh (MP), it was resolved that 17 November would be observed annually as NED.
EFI Initiative: The Epilepsy Foundation of India (EFI) has actively supported and strengthened nationwide initiatives to promote awareness and observance of NED.
Proposal: The observance of NED was proposed by the renowned Indian physician couple, Dr. Eddie Bharucha and Dr. Piloo Bharucha, who made significant contributions to the field of neurology and epilepsy care in India.
Symbol: Epilepsy awareness is symbolized by the purple ribbon, with the color purple representing lavender, the international flower linked to epilepsy.
About Epilepsy: 
Overview: Epilepsy is a chronic non-communicable neurological disorder caused by abnormal electrical activity in the brain, resulting in recurrent, unprovoked seizures.
Causes: The condition can arise from factors such as brain injury, tumors, strokes, or neurotransmitter imbalances and can affect people of all ages and backgrounds.
Management: Diagnosis is typically made after two or more unprovoked seizures, and many individuals achieve seizure control with appropriate anti-seizure medication.
Prevalence in India: According to the EFI, an estimated 2 to 5 lakh new cases are diagnosed each year, indicating that epilepsy is far more common in the country than generally perceived.
Global Action Plan: The Intersectoral Global Action Plan on Epilepsy and Other Neurological Disorders 2022–2031, adopted by the 75th World Health Assembly (WHA), recognizes that epilepsy and other neurological disorders share common preventive, pharmacological, and psychosocial approaches that can help strengthen and accelerate services and support for these conditions.

International Epilepsy Day: Observed worldwide on the second Monday of February each year, aims to promote global awareness of epilepsy and International Epilepsy Day 2025 was commemorated on 10 February 2025.
