- Union Minister Piyush Goyal was accompanied by the large Indian business delegation which included representatives from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), and the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM).

13th India-UAE HLJTFI:Union Minister Piyush Goyal co-chaired the 13th India-UAE HLJTFI along with Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Managing Director (MD) of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) held in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

WTO Report 2025: AI to Boost Trade by Nearly 40% by 2040In September 2025, the World Trade Organisation (WTO) released its annual World Trade Report 2025 (WTR) titled “Making trade and AI work together to the benefit of all” at the annual WTO Public Forum in Switzerland. The report highlights that artificial intelligence (AI) could increase global trade by nearly 40% by 2040.
Highlights of WTR 2025:
AI Impact: As per the report, AI could lead to significant increases in global trade, which is projected to rise by 34% to 37% by 2040, with the largest growth expected in the trade of digitally deliverable services.
- The AI is also projected to generate substantial global Gross Domestic Product(GDP) increases, ranging from 12 to 13% across scenarios.
- Also, it was found that nearly 90% of firms using AI report clear benefits in trade-related activities, with 56% noting improved trade risk management.
Productivity: A recent estimate suggests that AI could boost annual growth in Total Factor Productivity(TFP) by approximately 0.68% points.
AI enabled Goods Trade: In 2023, global trade in AI-enabling goods – including raw materials, semiconductors and intermediate inputs valued at USD 2.3 trillion(tn).
AI Patents: WTO analysis states that a 10% rise in digital services trade links to a 2.6% increase in AI patent citations across countries.

Plastic Free Rivers and Seas for South Asia (PLEASE):
Led by the South Asia Cooperative Environment Programme (SACEP) and supported by the World Bank(WB), the initiative aims to reduce marine plastic pollution and encourage innovation in plastic use and production.
Initiatives by India:
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (SBA): Also called the Clean India Mission, launched in 2014 to make India cleaner and eliminate open defecation and litter.
International Coastal Cleanup Day: The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) participates to educate and encourage public efforts in keeping beaches clean and protecting the marine environment.
Swachh Sagar, Surakshit Sagar (Clean Coast, Safe Sea): A 75-day campaign launched in 2022 to clean 75 beaches along India’s coastline.

In September 2025, Indian Railways(IR) officially renamed the Ahmednagar Railway Station of Pune Division in Maharashtra to Ahilyanagar as a tribute to Ahilyabai Holkar, the 18th-century Maratha queen renowned for her contributions to public welfare and governance.
