- ITEC programme offers 12,000 training slots with 400 specialised courses to nearly 160 countries in the world.
- Since Inception, ITEC has completed more than 2.25 lakh training slots.
Scheduled Launch: The selected training courses are scheduled to start by September 2025 under the ITEC framework.

In August 2025, the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog launched the report titled ‘India Electric Mobility Index(IEMI) 2024 – Tracking Electric Mobility Trends in Indian States‘.The IEMI, a first-of-its kind tool developed to track and benchmark the progress of states and Union Territories (UTs) in achieving their Electric Mobility goals.

Punjab Becomes First State to Empanel Language Interpreters, Translators under Juvenile Law
On August 4, 2025, Dr. Baljit Kaur, Minister for Social Security, Women & Child Development, Government of Punjab, announced the empanelment of sign language experts, translators, and special educators under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, to ensure access of the judicial system to all the sections of the society.
- With this move, Punjab has become the first state in India to empanel sign language experts under the Juvenile Justice Act 2015.

NITI Aayog Launches Report on “Unlocking a USD 200 Billion Opportunity: Electric Vehicles in India”
On August 4, 2025, National Institute for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog, the policy Think Tank of the Government of India (GoI), launched a report titled “Unlocking a USD 200 Billion Opportunity: Electric Vehicles in India” at a launch event in New Delhi, Delhi. The report serves as a strategic roadmap to help India achieve a 30% share of Electric Vehicles (EVs) in total vehicle sales by 2030.
- The report was released by Rajiv Gauba, Member of NITI Aayog, in the presence of BVR Subrahmanyam, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), NITI Aayog, Kamran Rizvi, Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries(MHI), O. P. Agarwal, Distinguished Fellow, NITI Aayog and Sudhendu Sinha, Programme Director – E-Mobility, NITI Aayog.
Roadmap to Boost EV Adoption in India by 2030:
Growth: As per the report, the sale of EVs in India has increased from 50,000 in 2016 to 2.08 million in 2024, making India stand 6th globally, while the global sales have increased from 918,000 in 2016 to 18.78 million in 2024.
- The report describes the EV transition in India as slow to start, with the EV penetration of India, being one-fifth of the global penetration in 2020 to over two-fifth of penetration in 2024.
Sales: In 2024, the sale of EV vehicles is 7.6% of the total vehicles, which has taken 5 years. To achieve the goal of reaching 30% sales of EV by 2030, India must increase the annual sales of EV vehicles by 22% till 2030.
- Among the EV vehicles, electric (e) two wheelers and e-three wheelers have shown a significant increase in sales. Electric buses have shown slight progress, while the sales of Electric cars have been slow.

IATA: Indian Emerged as World’s 5th Biggest Aviation Market; Mumbai-Delhi among Busiest Airport Pairs
In August 2025, the International Air Transport Association (IATA), a global airline body representing approximately 350 carriers, released the latest edition of the World Airport Transport Statistics (WATS) for 2024. As per the report, India ranked as the world’s 5th largest aviation market in 2024, handling 211 million passengers, marking an 11.1% year-on-year(Y-o-Y) growth from 2023.
Key Highlights:
Top 3 Countries in Aviation Market: The United States of America (USA) continues to be the world’s biggest aviation market with 876 million passengers in 2024, driven by its domestic air travel network, marking 5.2% Year-on-Year (Y-o-Y) growth rate.
- It is followed by China (741 million passengers) and the United Kingdom (UK) (261 million passengers) ranked at 2nd and 3rd spots, respectively.
Top Busiest Airport Pairs: Asia-Pacific region topped among the world’s busiest airports, with Jeju-Seoul Gimpo(CJU-GMP) in South Korea emerged as the most popular route globally, with 13.2 million passengers flying between two airports in 2024.
- Mumbai-Delhi route ranked 7th among the world’s top 10 busiest airport pairs, carrying 5.9 million passengers in 2024.
International Premium Class Travel: The report revealed that international premium class travel including business and first class, has increased by 11.8%, outpacing growth in global economy travel of 11.5%.
Most Flown Aircrafts: As per the report, The Boeing 737 (all variants) topped usage in 2024 with 10 million flights and generated 2.4 trillion Available Seat Kilometers (ASKs), a key indicator used to measure airline capacity.

In August 2025, Republic of Moldova has officially became the 107th member of the International Solar Alliance (ISA).
- Ana Taban, Ambassador of Moldova handed over the Instrument of Ratification to P.S. Gangadhar, Joint Secretary (Economic Diplomacy, Ministry of External Affairs(MEA), Government of India(GoI) in New Delhi, Delhi.

Dhruva Space to Launch First Commercial Satellite Aboard SpaceX’s Falcon 9
On August 4, 2025, Dhruva Space will launch its first commercial satellite mission, Launching Expeditions for Aspiring Payloads (LEAP)-1, aboard SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket in 3rd Quarter of 2025. The mission will host 2 Australia payloads such as Nexus-01 and OTR-2.
- The Mission will carry 2 international payloads on its home-built P-30 platform via SpaceX Falcon 9. P-30 has a payload capacity of 10-15 kilogram (kg) which was space-qualified during the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV)-C58 mission of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) in January 2025.

OTR-2: Developed by Esper Satellites, it is a hyperspectral imager, offering high-resolution Earth Observation imagery data. It is designed to redefine remote sensing, with its ability to deliver detailed data.
Operations: The operations and data management are handled through the Integrated Space Operations & Command Suite (ISOCS) of Dhruva Space. The Ground Station-as-a-Service (GSaaS) will support real-time payload control and downlink across mission operations.
Ojective: The LEAP-1 mission patch includes elements representing India, Australia, and the United States. It also features symbols for artificial intelligence and Earth imaging.
Satellite platform, also known as a spacecraft bus or satellite bus, is the structural and functional core of a satellite, providing essential services and infrastructure to support the payload and mission objectives.

Former J&K Governor Satyapal Malik Passed AwayOn 5th August 2025, Satyapal Malik, former Governor of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), passed away at the age of 79 in New Delhi, Delhi.
- He was born on 24th July 1946 in Hisawada village, Baghpat district, Uttar Pradesh (UP).

Pratyay Amrit Appointed as New Chief Secretary of Bihar
In August 2025, Pratyay Amrit, who is currently serving as the Development Commissioner of Bihar, was appointed as the new Chief Secretary(CS) of Bihar. He is scheduled to take office on September 1, 2025, succeeding Amrit Lal Meena, who will retire on August 31, 2025.

TN Government Signed 41 MoUs Worth Rs 32,554 Crore at TN Rising Conclave in Thoothukudi
In August 2025, the Government of Tamil Nadu (TN) has signed 41 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) across various sectors like: electronics, defence, aerospace, green energy, auto components, among others with various companies for investments worth around Rs 32,554 crore.
- These MoUs were signed in the presence of Muthuvel Karunanidhi (M.K.) Stalin, Chief Minister (CM) of TN and State Industries Minister T.R.B Rajaae during the inaugural ‘TN Rising’ Investors Conclave held at Tuticorin, Thoothukudi in TN.
Key Details of MoUs:
Single Largest Investment Commitment: The TN government received the single largest commitment from the Sakshi Group which plans to establish an ammunition and propellants unit in Thoothukudi with an investment of Rs 5,000 crore.
To Setup a MMF Unit: A MoU was signed between TN government and Royal Golden Edge Group (RGE) to set up a Man Made Fibre Facility (MMF) in Thoothukudi district, with an investment of Rs 4,953 crore.
Inauguration of Key Projects:
Plant: During the event, TN CM M.K. Stalin inaugurated VinFast’s electric vehicle assembly plant in Thoothukudi, marking the company’s first manufacturing facility outside Vietnam.
Projects: He also inaugurated four major projects worth a total investment of Rs 1,230 crore, spanning sectors such as health-tech (Pro1 Health in Thoothukudi), bioenergy (Nanda Devi Bio Energy in Tirunelveli), food processing (Britannia in Tirunelveli), and electronics (Yeemak in Kanchipuram).
