On October 1, 2020 Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully test fired the Indigenously developed Laser-Guided Anti-Tank Guided Missile (ATGM) from Main Battle Tank (MBT) Arjun at KK Ranges in Armoured Corps Centre and School (ACC&S) in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. It has a range of upto to 5 kilometres.

The Laser Guided Missile has been developed by Armament Research & Development Establishment (ARDE), Pune in association with High Energy Materials Research Laboratory (HEMRL), Pune and Instruments Research & Development Establishment (IRDE), Dehradun.Â
Key Points:
i.ATGM uses a Tandem High Explosive Anti-Tank (HEAT) Warhead to defeat Explosive Reactive Armour (ERA) protected armoured vehicles with a range from 1.5Km to 5 km.
ii.The Missile is undergoing technical evaluation trials from 120 mm rifled gun of MBT Arjun and is being developed for launch from multiple-platforms.
iii.This is the second successful test of the Missile, after DRDO successfully conducted the First Test on September 22, 2020.
