The 14th edition of the World Toilet Summit organized by the World Toilet Organization was held in New Delhi (Jan 19 to Jan 20). The Summit had added an impetus to the Modi’s quest of eradicating open defecation in India.
Special Secretary Devendra Chaudhary announced that the Ministry of Power will construct around 1,00,000 toilets in close to 60K government schools spread across India. Under the ambitious ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’ Modi has taken a personal agenda to build over 100 million toilets in India in next five years.
