World Students’ Day was observed on October 15 annually. The day marks the birth anniversary of India’s 11th President, Dr. A P J (Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen) Abdul Kalam, the one who gave uttermost importance to students and encouraged them at every event. This year it will be the 90th birth anniversary of the former president of India.

i.It reaffirms the role of education as a fundamental right for public good. It also enables the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

22 Teachers From Maharashtra Selected For Dr Kalam Memorial Award
i.A total of 22 teachers from various states have been selected for the Dr Kalam Memorial Teacher’s Award as a mark of their contribution towards promoting education in times of the COVID-19 pandemic.
