On 2nd March 2021, the International Boxing Association (AIBA) announced Tashkent, the capital city of Uzbekistan as the host city for 2023 Men’s Boxing World Championship. The biennial event is the highest event in the sport of Boxing.
i.For the 1st time Uzbekistan is going to host the Boxing World Championship in its 22nd Edition in 2023.
ii.AIBA’s World Boxing Champion is conducted once in every 2 years.
iii.The next event, 22nd edition of the World championship will be conducted between 10th April to 24th April, 2021 at Belgrade, Serbia.
Note- 2019 World Boxing Championship was conducted in Yekaterinburg, Russia.

Indian Boxing Contingent finished with 12 medals at the 30th Youth International Boxing Tournament ‘Adriatic Pearl’ held at Budva, Montenegro from February 16-22, 2021. It finished 2nd in the overall medals tally, Uzbekistan took the 1st place.
