Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat Inaugurates Integrated Model Agricultural Village Scheme

On October 21, 2020 Uttarakhand Chief Minister (CM) Trivendra Singh Rawat inaugurated the Integrated Model Agricultural Village Scheme (Ekikrit Adarsh Krishi Gram Yojana) in partnership with NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development) in the state at Doiwala in Dehradun. 

The scheme will help in strengthening the economy of farmers and in the doubling of their incomes. 

Highlights:

i.The CM highlighted Organic farming as a big strength of Uttarakhand. He emphasized on the importance of mechanised and scientific farming to boost productivity in Organic Farming. 

ii.Value Addition and Branding will be essential for doubling the income of Farmers.

iii.The limit for Interest Free Loan given to farmers has been hiked to INR 3 Lakh from INR 2 Lakh. 

iv.Around 10, 000 people to be deployed to give importance to water conservation efforts and reduce man-animal conflict, since these issues have become a deterrent for people wanting to take agriculture as means of livelihood.
