On November 13 2019, Uttar Pradesh (UP) government has launched a dedicated web portal (www.caneup.in) and e-Ganna app for sugarcane farmers in Lucknow as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). Both are developed by Sugar Industry & Cane Development Department, UP. Now, the cane supply slip is issued online by the sugar mills to the farmers. e-Ganna app provides information regarding the cane survey, basic quota, bonding, cane calendaring, issuance of parchi under a single platform. The move is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to double the farmers’ income. Supreme Court recently instructed Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh to stop their farmers from stubble burning. Chief Minister (CM) Yogi Adityanath announced that the state government has planned to set up bio fuel plants. Farmers could sell the stubble, along through other agricultural waste, to these plants instead of burning it and causing air pollution. It also stated that the conversion of sugarcane juice directly to ethanol, which makes the farmer to get benefits in price, and also it saves the high oil import bill.

iii. Commissioner Cane and Sugar, Shri Sanjay R. Bhoosreddy, informed that this Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) has been developed as per directions of the Hon’ble Chief Minister.
