Ladakh food security schemeOn 3rd July 2020, The Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh launched the Ladakh Food Security Scheme (LFSS) and the Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Food Entitlement Scheme (MMSFES) of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) was discontinued.

Ladakh Food Security Scheme:

i.The introduction of the LFSS will benefit around 6101 families under the Antyodaya Anna Yojana in addition to the 43,916 beneficiary families covered under the MMSFES.

ii.The food grains will be provided to all the category of beneficiaries of LHSS at the same price of the food grains provided to the beneficiaries of the Priority Household (PHH) and Non-priority Households (NPHH) scheme of J&K.

iii.Under this scheme, beneficiaries of AAY will be provided 5 kg of food grains per member over and above the National Food Security Act (NFSA) entitled scale of 35 Kgs per family, providing a maximum of 50 Kgs (NFSA+LFSS) per family.

iv.PHH & NPHH beneficiary family of size 1 to 9 members shall be provided 5 kgs of food grains per member over and above NFSA scale, providing a maximum of 50 Kgs (NFSA+LFSS) per family.
