National Technology Week 2023 concludes in DelhiOn 14th May 2023, Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State(MoS) (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, graced the valedictory ceremony of the 4-day long event “National Technology Week 2023” (11th to 14th May 2023) at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, Delhi.

  • During the valedictory ceremony Technology Development Board (TDB) conferred the  National Technology Awards 2023 upon Industries, Entrepreneurs & Scientists  who contributed to bringing innovation to the market and support in contributing to the vision of “Aatma Nirbhar Bharat.”
  • The National Technology Awards 2023 was conferred to 11 winners following the two-tier evaluation process.

National Technology Awards 2023

The National Technology Awards was presented under 5 categories: Main, MSME(Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises), Startup, Translational Research and Technology Business Incubator.

The winners were chosen from various industries for successful commercialization of innovative indigenous technology, scientists involved in research and Technology Business Incubators.

Winners of National Technology Awards 2023

National Technology Award (Main): 

Winner:  MyLab Discovery Solutions Private Limited, Maharashtra

Prize: Rs.25 Lakh and a trophy

Reason: For successfully indigenising the CNATSpert ID TripleH Detection Kit which offers all in one qualitative multiplex Real-Time Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test for simultaneous detection and discrimination of transfusion-transmitted infections (TTIs) like HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) , hepatitis B virus (HBV), and hepatitis C virus (HCV) in donated blood in a single tube format.

National Technology Award (MSME): 

Prize: Rs. 15 lakhs each and a trophy

National Technology Award- Translational Research

The award is presented to the outstanding contribution of Women Scientists/entrepreneurs in commercializing innovative indigenous technologies.

Winner: Prof. Govindaraju Thimmaiah

Reason: For Outstanding contribution of Scientists in commercializing innovative indigenous technologies.

He developed a novel drug candidate TGR63 for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.

National Technology Award-Technology Business Incubator

Winner: T-Hub Foundation, Telangana.

Reason: For outstanding contribution in techno-entrepreneurship development by way of promoting innovative, technology-driven knowledge, intensive startup enterprises in different technological areas.

National Technology Week 2023 – 11th to 14th May: 

The National Technology Week 2023 took place from 11th to 14th May 2023 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, Delhi under the theme “School to Startup – igniting young minds to innovate”.

  • The event was inaugurated by Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi on the occasion of “National Technology Day 2023 – 11th May”.
  • The event marks the celebration of 25 years of  National Technology Day.

The National Technology Week was organised with the primary focus on  Atal Innovation Mission (AIM). 

Organisers: 

The National Technology Week 2023 was organised by the TBD along with 12 Ministries or Departments.

The organisers of the events includes Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) -NITI Aayog(National Institution for Transforming India), Department of Science and Technology(DST), Ministry of Earth Sciences, Defence Research and Development Organisation(DRDO) – Ministry of Defence, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Department of Biotechnology, Department of Atomic Energy(DAE), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology(MeitY), Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Education, Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO) and Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
