Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh launches Single Integrated Pensioners’ Portal aimed at “Ease of Living”

Union Minister Jitendra Singh launches integrated portal for pensionersOn 18th October 2022, Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State(MoS) for Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions launched the single integrated pensioners’ portal aimed at “Ease of Living” for the Central Government Pensioners.The portal (www.ipension.nic.in ) will act as a one-stop solution for all the pensioners’ needs.

  • The portal was developed in collaboration with State Bank of India(SBI).State Bank of India will become the first pension disbursing bank which has integrated its portal with the portal of Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW).
  • The remaining 16 pension disbursing banks will also begin their integration with BHAVISHYA, Pension Sanction and Payment tracking system.
  • Bhavishya 9.0 version was also released on 18th October 2022 with its integration with the Pension Disbursing Banks.
  • Jitendra Singh also inaugurated the Pre-Retirement Counselling for about 900 officials, who are  about to retire in the next 1 year.
  • He also conferred the Anubhav Awards for 2019-20, 20-21 & 21-22.

Key Points:

i.BHAVISHYA, an initiative of DoPPW will enable the pensioners to access all the information and services in one single place with a single login.

ii.After all the phases of this integration are completed, the retirees can choose a Bank and Branch for opening an online Pension Account and check their monthly pension slips, Form 16, Status of Life Certificate and change their Pension Disbursing Bank through BHAVISHYA.

  • Recently, National e-Governance Service Delivery Assessment (NeSDA) has rated BHAVISHYA as the 3rd best portal among all service portal of the Government of India.

iv.BHAVISHYA will become a single window for all Central Government Pensioners. CPENGRAMS(Centralized Pension Grievances Redress And Monitoring System), ANUBHAV, ANUDAAN, Skill Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion (SANKALP)& Pension dashboard are the portals that have been merged with BHAVISHYA.

About BHAVISHYA:

i.BHAVISHYA was launched with the aim to ensure payment of all retirement dues and delivery of Pension Payment Order (PPO) to retiring employees on the day of retirement itself.

ii.The platform was made mandatory for all central government departments since January 2017.

iii.At present, BHAVISHYA has processed 1,74,000 cases, i.e., PPOs issued which includes more than 1lakh e-PPOs.

Anubhav Awards:

i.MoS Dr Jitendra Singh awarded the Anubhav Awards for year 2019-20, 20-21 & 21-22 to 15 awardees.

ii.Due to COVID-19 pandemic, The Anubhav Awards ceremony, started in 2016, for 2019-20 and 2020-21 were not organised.

About Anubhav:

i.Anubhav portal, launched by DoPPW in 2015, provides an opportunity for retiring Government employee to share their experience of working in the Government and give suggestions for improvement in governance.

ii.The Anubhav awards were started in 2016 as an annual award to  to encourage retiring government employees to share their government experience.

Pension Disbursing Bank Exhibition:

Dr Jitendra Singh also inaugurated a Pension Disbursing Bank Exhibition which featured the digital initiatives and products for retiring government officials of all the 17 Pension Disbursing Banks.

This first of its kind exhibition was organised by the DoPPW to enable retiring employees to take informed decision on opening Pension account.

Pre-Retirement Counselling workshop:

i.The DoPPW organizes Pre-Retirement Counselling (PRC) workshop for the benefits of retiring employees of the Government of India as a welfare measure.

ii.The workshop is focused on,

  • Online filing of Pension papers by retiring employees on BHAVISHYA
  • Retirement benefits
  • DLC & Face Authentication technology
  • Income Tax Rules effecting retiring employees.

Minister of State (MoS) for Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Dr Jitendra Singh launched the exclusive “Swachhata” Portal for the Special Campaign 2.0, which is scheduled to begin on October 2, 2022, to 31st October 2022.
