G20 Digital Ministers’ MeetingOn August 05 2021, Union Minister for the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Ashwini Vaishnaw led the Indian Delegation at the G20 Digital Ministers Meeting 2021 held virtually from Tieste, Italy. The meeting was hosted by Italy (G20 2021 Presidency).

  • The meeting was chaired by Giancarlo Giorgetti, Minister for Economic Development and Vittorio Colao, Minister for Technological Innovation & Digital Transition, Italy.
  • The meeting was held as part of the G20 Leaders summit 2021, which will be hosted by Italy in October 2021.
  • During the meeting, Ministers adopted the “Leveraging Digitalization for a Resilient, Strong, Sustainable and Inclusive Recovery” declaration at the meeting. It includes 12 actions to accelerate the digital transition.

ii.The Ministers agreed to work towards enhanced cooperation on the pillars of Digital Economy and Digital Government.
