Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Ministry of Communications, NITI Aayog (National Institution for Transforming India)’s ‘NITI For States’ platform which will serve as a Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) platform for policy and good governance.
- He inaugurated the ‘NITI For States – Viksit Bharat Strategy Room’ at NITI Aayog in New Delhi, Delhi.
- He also inaugurated the ‘NITI for States’ Exhibition at Rang Bhawan, Akashvani, New Delhi.

About ‘NITI for States’
i.The platform is aimed at bolstering states and union territories (UT) in achieving national development goals.
ii.It is an integrated platform hosting numerous documents and datasets required for the government’s Viksit Bharat action plan.
Key Features
i.Knowledge base: The platform features 7,500 curated best practices; 5,000 policy documents; 900+ datasets; 1,400 data profiles; and 350 NITI Aayog publications.
- The documents and datasets on the platform span 10 sectors including Agriculture and Allied Services, Education, Energy, Health and Nutrition, etc. along with 2 cross-cutting themes, gender and climate change.
ii.The platform is supported by Bhashini, an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-led language translation system tool, to currently provide access to 8 Indian languages. It will later increase to 22 Indian languages and 7 foreign languages.
iii.It hosts training modules for capacity building in governance and 4 help desks on electric vehicles (EVs), procurement, land, and urbanisation.
iv.The platform has been integrated with e-Office by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), under the Ministry of Electronics And Information Technology (MeitY).
v.National Data and Analytics Platform (NDAP) has also been integrated with the platform to make various datasets accessible to policymakers.
About Viksit Bharat Strategy Room:
i.It was developed by the National E-Governance Division, under MeitY, and is an interactive space that enables users to visualise data, trends, best practices, and policies.
ii.It allows for the interactive visualisation of documents and datasets uploaded on the NITI for States platform.
iii.It will be instrumental in sharing information and knowledge to enable effective in-person decision-making.
- The strategy room also allows for interactions through voice-enabled AI.
iv.This initiative aims to create a plug-and-play model for replication at different administrative levels.

The ‘NITI for States’ Exhibition showcased the collaboration of several government organisations. It featured mobile integration, Expert Helpdesk, AI, and Multilingual Support by Bhashini.
