The Union Minister Amit Shah, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) launched the Mukhyamantri Ghasiyari Kalyan Yojana and computerization of cooperative societies in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
About Mukhyamantri Ghasiyari Kalyan Yojana:
Under the scheme nutritious fodder or cattle feed (Silage) would be provided in the vacuum pack bags of 25-30 kg to the cattle owners at the rate of Rs 2 per kg on 30% subsidy. This will be provided with the help of cooperative committees.
- The Silage will be prepared using green fodder, corn and dry fodder to increase the milk output of the cattle by 15 to 20%.
- As a part of this scheme, 2,000 farmers will cultivate maize on about 1,000 acres of land benefitting about one lakh farmers.
- Also, for the women this will reduce the load of fodder from their heads, which is difficult in the hills in adverse weather conditions.
The first phase of the scheme launched in four mountainous districts of Pauri, Rudraprayag, Almora and Champawat.
Other Launches:
i.Amit Shah also inaugurated computerization of all the 670 Primary Agriculture Credit Society (PACS) committees. With computerization, PACS members do not have to deal with any scams and can have direct linkage of PACS with relevant banks.
ii.He inaugurated the Cooperative Training Center to take cooperative movement forward.

Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami and Minister of State (MoS) Ajay Bhatt, Ministry of Tourism were present on the occasion.
