On May 20, 2020, Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank released three handbooks through video conferencing in New Delhi. The 3 handbooks were prepared by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on measures taken by the Board to adopt value-based global standards of education.
Key Points:
i.Cyber safety: The Cyber safety handbook is for Students of Secondary & Senior Secondary Schools. It is prepared to create awareness about cyber security among the students from class IX to XII.
ii.The booklet will be a perfect guide for teenagers who use the internet and other digital platforms frequently and may face a variety of security risks.
iii.‘In Pursuit of Excellence- A Handbook for Principals: The second handbook for the principals of schools to be made aware of the Board’s systems and other useful information. It will ensure better coordination between schools and CBSE administration.
iv.21st Century Skills- A Handbook: The third handbook deals everyone to make aware of  21st century skills and motivate them to use them in their daily life.
v.Pokhriyal lauded the efforts of CBSE for preparing the booklets to benefit all the stakeholders under the entire education system of the country and hoped that these booklets will help in developing better understanding of cybersecurity, improving efficiency, gaining skills and leadership experience.
