Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Ananth Kumar launched Pharma Jan Samadhan Scheme, which is a web enabled system created by National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), for redressal of consumers’ grievances relating to pricing and availability of medicines.
This system is speedy and effective with respect to addressing the consumers’ complaints. It would definitely serve as a powerful e-governance tool for protection of consumers’ interests through the implementation of the Drugs (Price Control) Order 2013. In case of any complaints, NPPA will initiate action within 48 hrs of its receipt. The scheme would also prevent black-marketing, artificial medicines and illegal drug practices.
The Minister has also released Compendium of Ceiling Prices of Essential Medicines 2015 prepared by NPPA.
