SIGNING OF MoU BETWEEN INDIAN NAVY AND MS L&T

Indian Navy & M/s Larsen and Toubro (L&T); Naval Institute of Educational and Training Technology (NIETT) & Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM-K);Ministry of Defence (MoD) and Ministry of AYUSH (MoA) has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) 

  • The Indian Navy and M/S Larsen and Toubro (L&T) signed MoU for nurturing and inducting various technological domains into the Indian Navy.
  • The Naval Institute of Educational and Training Technology (NIETT) and Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM-K) inks MoU for collaboration and exchange of best practices in the field of instructional leadership, educational psychology, and management.
  • The Ministry of Defence and AYUSH Ministry signed MoU for setting up Ayurveda Centres at 37 Cantonment Hospitals and 12 Military Hospitals of Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) at various parts of India.

Indian Navy and M/S L&D signed MoU for Technological development in Indian Navy

On April 20, 2022, The Indian Navy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with M/s Larsen and Toubro (L&T) to engage as a knowledge partner for nurturing and Induction of various contemporary and emerging technologies into the Indian Navy.

i.The Technological domains encompass Electrical, Weapons, Engineering, Machinery and Control, and Hull of a Naval Warship into the Indian Navy.

i.Vice Admiral Sandeep Naithani, Chief of Materiel (COM) on behalf of Indian Navy and Jayant Damodar Patil, Whole – Time Director (Defence & Smart Technologies) and Member of the Board, L&T.

IIM-K, NIETT signs MoU to exchange best practices

The Naval Institute of Educational and Training Technology (NIETT), Kochi, Kerala and Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM-K) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to build a collaboration and exchange best practices in the field of instructional leadership, educational psychology and management for a period of Three years with provision of extension.

Signatories:

i.The MoU was signed by Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director of IIM-K and Commodore Ben H. Berson, director, NIETT.

Key Points:

i.The collaboration between IIM-K’s Kochi campus and NIETT (leading training institute for Indian Navy) improves the Navy’s training practices to achieve excellence and enhancing the contemporary learning skills for defence participants.

ii.Also, It brings an opportunity for NIETT faculty and selected Naval officers to participate and train in suitable management programmes at IIM-K.

Defence Ministry signs MoUs with AYUSH to start Ayurveda Centres & AFMS military hospitals

Ministry of Defence (MoD) and Ministry of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy) (MoA) signed two MoUs for setting up of Ayurveda Centres at 37 Cantonment Hospitals and 12 Military Hospitals of Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) respectively.

Signatories:

i.The MoU was signed by Pramod Kumar Pathak, Special Secretary (MoA), Surgeon Vice Admiral Rajat Datta, Director General AFMS and Sonam Yangdol, Additional Director General Defence Estates.

Key Points:

i.The MoU was signed at a three day mega event for Global Ayush Investment and Innovation Summit organised at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, Gujarat from 20 – 22 April 2022.

ii.Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the presence of Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director General, World Health Organisation (WHO) addressed the august gathering during the inaugural function.

iii.The MoU will establish the time-tested therapies of Ayurveda to the residents of Cantonments, including families of Armed Forces personnel and civilians depending on these hospitals. 

iv.These Ayurveda Centres will be functional across the country from May 01, 2022.
