The FIFA Best Awards 2024 Vinicius Jr - Bonmati Win Top HonourThe Best FIFA(Fédération Internationale de Football Association) Football Awards ceremony 2024 was held in Doha, Qatar, on 17 December 2024.

  • Vinicius Junior (Brazil) won the Best FIFA Men’s Player 2024 Award, while Aitana Bonmati (Spain) won the Best FIFA Women’s Player 2024 Award for the second consecutive year.
  • This year, a new award has been introduced for Women’s football. The award has been named after Marta Vieira da Silva, who has retired from professional football after 20 years of excellent service for Women’s football.
  • The winners are awarded based on the votes by national team coaches, captains, global media members and fans.

i.Vinicius Junior – FIFA Men’s Player of the Year 2024

  • Vinicius Junior (Brazil) was named the Men’s Player of the Year for his exceptional contributions in 2024.
  • He helped Real Madrid win the Champions League and La Liga titles, scoring 24 goals across all competitions, including a vital strike in the Champions League final.

ii.Aitana Bonmatí – FIFA Women’s Player of the Year 2024

  • Aitana Bonmatí (Spain) won the FIFA Women’s Player of the Year for her crucial role in Barcelona’s domestic treble and their Champions League success, alongside her performances for Spain, solidified her position as the best in women’s football.
  • She won the award after another stellar season, having previously clinched the Ballon d’Or in October 2024.

iii.Alejandro GarnachoPuskas Award 2024

  • Alejandro Garnacho (Argentina) won the Puskas Award for the best goal of 2024 for his breathtaking overhead kick for Manchester United FC against Everton (North Liverpool) in November 2023.
  • The award is named in honour of Hungarian forward Ferenc Puskás, who was famed for his stunning collection of individual strikes.

iv.Marta Vieira da Silva-Marta Award 2024

  • Marta Vieira da Silva(Brazil) received the inaugural Marta Award, celebrating the best goal in women’s football. The award is given to the female footballer, who scored the best goal in the concerned calendar year.
  • She was recognized for her extraordinary contribution to the game and her legendary status in women’s football.

v.Best Coaches of the Year 2024

  • Carlo Ancelotti (Italy)- Best Men’s Coach of the Year for guiding Real Madrid CF to a league and Champions League doubles.
  • Emma Hayes (USA) – Best Women’s Coach of the Year as she led Chelsea FC to a 5 th consecutive (2020,2021,2022,2023,2024) Women’s Super League title.

vi.Best Goalkeepers of the Year 2024

  • Emiliano Martinez (Argentina)- Best Men’s goalkeeper of the Year.
  • Alyssa Naeher (USA) – Best Women’s goalkeeper of the Year.

vii.The world ‘Dream Team’ known as the FIFA FIFPRO Men’s World 11 and FIFA FIFPRO Women’s World 11 were also announced.

  • The players were selected by thousands of professional footballers from all around the world, voting for the most outstanding player in each position.
