Telangana Government and UK India Business Council Renew their MoUOn September 8, 2020 The UK India Business Council (UKIBC) renewed its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Telangana. This will bolster the industrial development of the state.

Key People

Mr. Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Telangana and Mr. Kevin McCole, Managing Director, UKIBC signed the MoU virtually in the presence of Mr. Andrew Fleming, Deputy High Commissioner, British Deputy High Commission – Hyderabad and UK businesses.

Points to be Noted

i.This partnership between the UKIBC  and the Telangana government is well established, and has already led to two UK business delegations to the state and a delegation of leading UK universities.

ii.These interactions increase business investment, accelerate improvements in making business easier, ease UK-Telangana business partnerships and expand higher education alliance.

On July 25, 2020, India and European Union (EU) exchanged Note Verbale to renew its Agreement on Scientific and Technological Cooperation for the next five years (2020-2025) which expired on May 17, 2020. This renewal is on the lines of the decision taken by both nations during the virtual 15th India-EU Summit which was led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from India’s side.
