SJVN Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Govt. of India (GoI)for the year 2020-21 as per which the former has the target to achieve 9680 Million Units of electricity generation during FY21 under “Excellent” category.
- The MOU was signed by Sanjiv Nandan Sahai, Secretary (Power), Government of India and Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), SJVN.
- It should be noted that SJVN has set a target of achieving installed capacity of 5000 MW (Mega Watt) by 2023, 12000 MW by 2030 and 25000 MW by 2040.
Other targets set under MoU:
–SJVN has a Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) target of Rs.2880 Crores.
–There is Turnover target of Rs. 2800 Crores too under ‘Excellent’ category along with other targets related to operational efficiency and Project monitoring.
About SJVN:
Based in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh (HP), it is a Mini Ratna, Category-I and Schedule –‘A’ CPSE under administrative control of Ministry of Power. It is a joint venture (JV) GoI and Government of Himachal Pradesh (GOHP). Presently it is implementing or operating power projects in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Maharashtra and Gujarat and in neighbouring countries of Nepal and Bhutan. As of FY 20, it has an installed capacity of 2016 MW.
Ongoing works:
–SJVN is implementing 13 Hydro Projects in Himachal Pradesh (HP), Uttarakhand, Nepal & Bhutan.
–Recently, SJVN has bagged two major solar projects of 100 MW each viz. Dholera Solar Power Project and Raghanesda Solar Power Project at tariffs of Rs 2.80 per unit and Rs 2.73 per unit, respectively from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL).
— It is also implementing a 1320 MW Buxar Thermal Power Project in Bihar.
