In April 2021, the Indian business association for businesses in Singapore, the Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) collaborated with Start-up Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC) of IIT-Kanpur to mutually promote Technology based Startups.
- Under this collaboration, SICCI-SIIC conducts a Launchpad Competition – “SICCI-SIIC INNOVATION LAUNCHPAD”.
Aim – To act as a platform to promote young entrepreneurs from India & Singapore in incorporating high end technologies for the competitive global market.
- LaunchPad 2021- 9 startups participated (4 from India & 5 from Singapore).
Key Points:
i.SICCI-SIIC conducted the first in a series of cross-border collaborations under the MoU signed on March 10, 2021.
ii.This Partnership will help the startups to take advantage of the Singapore-India trade and technology corridor.
iii.This international collaboration is in-line with India’s 2016 initiative ‘Startup India’.
Note – India is the 3rd largest Startup ecosystem in the world & India is now the third largest home of unicorns.
