Shooting: India tops Medals tally by bagging 11 Medals at First Asian Online Shooting Championship

India’s 24-Member Indian Shooting Contingent topped the Medals Tally by bagging 11 Medals – 4 Gold, 2 Silver & 5 Bronze Medals at the First Asian Online Shooting Championship organized by Kuwait Shooting Federation from January 29-30, 2021.

• The Indian Shooters participated in the online competition from the Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range, New Delhi.
• Around 274 Shooters from 22 members of the  Asian Shooting Confederation (ASC) participated in the Competition.
• Indian Shooters bagged 4 Gold medals out of 8 Gold Medals which were on offer during the competition.
• The Asian Online Shooting Championships are the 1st Formal meet for Indian Shooters after the Pandemic.
• The championships took place for 4 events – Pistol, Rifle, Trap & Skeet.

Medals:

• Saurabh Chaudhary won the Gold medal in 10m Air Pistol Men’s event
• Manu Bhaker bagged Bronze Medal in the 10m Air Pistol Women’s event trap event
• Madhya Pradesh’s Manisha Kheer bagged the Bronze Medal in the women’s Trap event.

i.On 18th October, 2020, Indian Shooter Elavenil Valarivan won the Gold Medal in the Women’s event, while Shahu Tushar Mane won the Silver Medal in the Men’s event in the Sheikh Russel International Air Rifle Championship 2020 that was held virtually.
