Hi friends! One of our reader Rohit has shared his success story with us. You can learn from his experience and keep hard working and hoping for the best.

Belief is all you need to keep going……

Hey guys,You people know me by the name of Niklaus Mikaelson on disqus platform. I cleared SBI PO this year and now I want to help others in the  best possible way I can. I am a 2014 pass out, civil engineer. I quit this stream to pursue a very different dream, “UPSC CSE”. But to be honest I was never a very hardworking student. I wasted my first attempt didn’t study at all for it. But Upsc was not the only thing I wasted due to lack of hard work and sincerity. I wasted SBI (didn’t even know about the sectional cut-off) and IBPS. There was a time when I decided to leave everything and go back to civil engg but my little sister persuaded me to stay for one more year. She has been the support a person needs, to stand tall in times of difficulties. My elder sister and mother have always been the critical thinkers of the family, while supporting me and believing in me that I can achieve my goals, they always exerted the adequate pressure to get me going. Dad has been the silent supporter of me and I always knew that he was there no matter how my results were. Enough of that already, let’s talk business now. The following details of the exams are true to best of my knowledge-(According to their chronological order)

SBI PO 2014- 84 (missed maths by 1 mark)
IBPS PO 2014- 76( i think missed overall by 6 marks)
SBI associate- 80 (missed total cutoff)
RBI asst- 139( out)
BOB manipal- out in first round
SBI PO 2015- pre clear (51 marks)
Out in mains (same 84 and missed maths by 1 mark)
Rbi asst 2015- 159 (out)
IDBI manipal- not finally selected (111 in written)
IBPS RRB OS1- not finally selected (111 in written)
IBPS PO- pre- 65
Mains-106(missed computer by 0.5)
SIDBI- total 157.5(cut-off I think was 162)
LIC AAO- total 243.5(cut-off I think 255)
Nabard- out in mains
SBI clerk pre- 93
Mains- result yet to come.
SBI PO- pre- 66
FINALLY SELECTED
BOB manipal- 174 attempts. Result yet to come.

I know it’s a long and boring list, but my point is improvisation. I believed that I can do it and persuaded the path till I achieved it. AC has been a great mentor and friend when it comes to current affairs. Plus the quizzes on every topic on AC have always been up to the mark. Now let’s talk about the books I used for preparation-

Quant– R.S. Agrawal( for basic understanding)
Fastrack maths by Rajesh Verma(for tricks)
Sarvesh kumar( very good book for practice)

Reasoning– I never used any book for this but heard that M.K Pandey is a good book.

English– Didn’t prepare for this but I advise to have Word Power Made Easy book. Good for basic knowledge.

GA– capsules and tonics from different sites are best.

Special thanks to my family for being with me in tough times and also AC for being a great pain absorber. When it comes to moderators, shruti ma’am has been a great mentor.
So people believe in yourself and make a proper strategy when attempting the paper because that will make a difference in the result.

We are happy that we could also become a part of your this journey. All the best Rohit from AC team for your future. Keep rocking :)
