On November 26, 2020 Russia successfully test-fired Tsirkon hypersonic cruise missile from frigate Admiral Gorshkov of the Soviet Union from the White Sea.
- It successfully hit a sea target at a distance of 450 km(Kilometres) in the Barents Sea, at a speed of over Mach 8.

On October 7, 2020 the Russia for the first time test-fired the Tsirkon (Zircon) Hypersonic Cruise Missile. It was carried out by the frigate Admiral Gorshkov.
Tsirkon hypersonic Cruise Missile
The Tsirkon hypersonic Cruise Missile is capable of accelerating between Mach 8-Mach 9.
The striking range of the missile can also exceed 1,000 km-2,000 km.Tsirkon hypersonic Cruise Missile is developed & manufactured by NPO Mashinostroyeniya.
About Frigate Admiral
i.Frigate Admiral Gorshkov is one of the most modern ships of the Northern Fleet.
ii.It was built at the Severnaya Verf shipyard in St. Petersburg. It entered the fleet in July 2018.
iii.The Frigate Admiral Gorshkov are multifunctional warships that are capable to fight in surface, air and adversaries.
iv.It also strikes land and coastal targets at a distance of over 1.5 thousand kilometers.

- The 3S-14 universal shipborne launcher is used for the launches of Tsirkon hypersonic weapons and Kalibr cruise missiles.
