Road Ministry launches dashboard link in its website with list of Dhabas and Truck Repair Shops

On April 20, 2020 The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has created & launched a dashboard link in its website which lists details of Dhabas and Truck Repair Shops available across the country by various organisations like National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), States,Oil Marketing companies.Ministry Road & Transport Dhabas and Truck Repair Shops on its website

  • NHAI’s centralized call number 1033 is also enabled to answer calls and help drivers/cleaners to find information about the dhabas and repair shops along National Highways.

Purpose
To facilitate the truck /cargo drivers and cleaners who travel to different places of the country to deliver required goods in lockdown which is announced to curb the Covid-19 pandemic.

Key Points

i.The information provided by various stakeholders, particularly States/UTs, Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) among others, is updated on the dashboard link on the website.

ii.Dhabas, repair shops, drivers, cleaners or any other person in the movement of goods should follow all necessary precautions and healthcare protocols of social distancing, use of masks, hygiene, among others.

iii.By using https://morth.nic.in/dhabas-truck-repair-shops-opened-during-covid-19 the list can be accessed.

iv.NHAI has restarted its toll collection from April 20, where Haryana and Punjab have decided not to collect tolls on state highways so as to aid the lifting of food grains.

Gist about NHAI:
It was established by an Act of Parliament in 1988 under the administrative control of MoRTH & became operational in February 1995. It is set up as a central authority to develop, maintain and manage the National Highways which are entrusted to it by the Government of India.
