Legendary Veteran Tamil Actor, comedian and singer Manorama passes away at the age of 78 due to multiple organ failure. She was a lady full of talent who had acted with actors for generations and also gave matched performance with present day actors.

- She started her career at the age of 12 as a stage actor.
- She had a special record of working with 5 CMs of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu named Anna Durai, M G Ramachandran, M Karunanidhi, N T Rama Rao and J Jayalalithaa.

- She holds a Guinness World Record for acting more than 1000 films.
- She was awarded with Kalaimamani award by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
- In 1995 she was presented with Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award – South.
- In 1989 she also bagged National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for the movie Pudhiya Pathai.
- In 2002 she was honoured with Padma Shri.
