Union Minister for Communication and IT, Ravi Shankar Prasad launched four world class Broadband products developed by Centre for Development of Telematic (C-DOT).
He said that the NDA Government is committed to bring all 2.5 lakh villages under broadband services and enhance internet penetration from 300 million to 500 million within 2 and half years.
With this India has become at par with all other developed countries in the world in respect of quality telecommunication services and effective penetration of advanced broadband based services.
The four products launched by C-DOT are:
Long Distance Wi-Fi System – This system is capable of extending WiFi connectivity to the remote and inhospitable terrains of India. This is capable of providing 100Mbps broadband speed
Solar Powered Wi-Fi System – This solution is specifically designed for outdoor environments, inaccessible terrains, where there is no guarantee for continuous power. The system is designed to work in variable input voltages and in harsh conditions.
100Gbps Optical Fiber Cable Link – This system is designed to meet the ever increasing demand for superior bandwidth, high speed and power efficiency and is capable of serving multiple applications and protocols.
C-DOT Next Generation Network in MTNL Network – This solution addresses the need of the changing telecom scenario and enables TELCOs to make a smooth transition from legacy TDM ( Time Division Multiplexing) technology to advance VoIP Telecom technology.
These newly launched products will provide an advanced digital infrastructure for digital India initiative.
