On 18th May 2020, the Ranchi district launched the “Tatpar” program to help the migrant workers to get back to their native places on bus instead of tiresome travel by foot. The administration launched a helpline “1950” to support the migrant workers in arranging buses.
Key Points:
i.The officials collect the information about the workers travelling through foot in the national highways or on other roads and provide them transport facilities.
ii.A day after the launch of the programme, over 140 migrant workers were benefited through this programme and sent back to their native places through bus.
iii.Through this programme while transportation the migrant workers were provided with masks and food packets.
iv.On 16th May 2020, the Chief Minister Hemant Soren instructed the 24 district administration to ensure that the workers are not travelling by foot to reach their destinations in the lockdown.
