QETCI & MeitY Organised NQSTS 2023 in New Delhi; QETCI Released Quantum Value Chain Report

QETCI, MeitY launch Quantum Security Centre and release Quantum Value Chain reportQuantum Ecosystems and Technology Council of India (QETCI) and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) jointly organised the 1st edition of National Quantum Science and Technology Symposium (NQSTS 2023) at the Scope Convention Centre in New Delhi, Delhi from 14th to 15th December 2023.

  • During the event, QETCI released the Quantum Value Chain Report for India and Quantum Security Whitepaper for the Banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) Segment

NQSTS 2023:

Objective: To stimulate the nation’s quantum ecosystem and create opportunities for collaboration in utilising quantum technology for real-world problem-solving.

Highlgihts:

i.The event also witnessed the launch of the Quantum Security Centre and Forum (QSCF) and a logo.

  • The centre is a joint initiative by QETCI and CR Rao Advanced Institute of Mathematics Statistics and Computer Science (CR Rao AIMSCS), University of Hyderabad Campus, Hyderabad, Telangana.

ii.QETCI and the Bengaluru Science and Technology (BeST) Cluster, Bengaluru (Karnataka) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for strategic partnerships to accelerate research and adoption of Quantum Technology.

Quantum Value Chain Report for India:

i.The report was developed through a 6-month policy research project by QETCI.

ii.It describes a new framework for evaluating the Quantum Value Chain and analyses the Value Chain for India.

  • It is a comprehensive report on the Quantum Ecosystem in India covering supply chain, allied value chains, and non-supply chain elements in the ecosystem.

iii.The report examines Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) associated with the Indian Quantum Ecosystem.

iv.The report serves as the foundation for data-driven policy recommendations, for strengthening the quantum supply chain in India.

v.The report will be the basis for making data-based policy recommendations for strengthening the quantum supply chain in India.

Key People:

The report was released in the presence of Dr V K Saraswat, Chairman of the governing board of QETCI; and S Krishnan, the Secretary of MeitY.

Quantum Security Centre and Forum (QSCF):

i.QSCF focuses on fast-tracking quantum security measures and implementations.

ii.The Centre will work with multiple stakeholders in the Quantum Security Ecosystem, create a community, and offer a place for experimentation, proof of concepts, vendor-neutral papers and reports, etc.
