Quality Council of India introduces QCI Surajya Recognition & Ranking Framework to Drive Excellence in Key SectorsThe Quality Council of India (QCI), an autonomous body set up by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoC&I), is introducing the QCI Surajya Recognition & Ranking Framework, designed to drive excellence among states to improve citizens’ quality of life for Viksit Bharat.

  • This framework is categorised under 4 pillars namely, Shiksha (Education), Swasthya (Health), Samriddhi (Prosperity), and Sushasan (Governance).

The Surajya Recognition acknowledges the outstanding performance and commitment to quality by states and organisations in these 4 vital areas.

Note: Viksit Bharat is the Government of India’s (GoI) vision to make India a developed nation by 2047, the 100th year of independence.

Objective:

The framework aims to promote high standards, best practices, and continuous improvement across key sectors in India, paving the way for states to achieve and maintain the highest standards of excellence.

August 2024 Rankings:

i.The QCI Surajya Recognition & Ranking Framework, starting with the August 2024 rankings, set a new benchmark for national excellence, recognising and rewarding states and organisations excelling in quality and innovation.

ii.The rankings have been compiled, incorporating both monthly and cumulative figures across various initiatives to ensure a comprehensive and balanced evaluation.

iii.The August 2024 rankings cover Shiksha, Swasthya, and Samriddhi, with Sushasan to be included in future editions.
