President Pranab Mukherjee was on 2 days visit to Jordan on the invitation of King Abdullah-II Ibn Al Hussein.

  • In 65 years Shri Pranab Mukherjee was the first Indian President to visit Jordan after Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi visit in 1988.

  • Both Nation heads inaugurated the world’s largest sulphuric acid plant in Eshidiya, Amman. It is a JV between IFFCO (Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Ltd) and JPMC (Jordanian Phosphate Mines Company) and has a cost of $860mn. IFFCO is having 52% stake.
  • To promote trade and economic cooperation India has extended a line of credit of $100mn to Jordan.
