Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced that Gujarat will host 13th edition Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) from 7 January 2015 to 9 January 2015. This edition will mark the 100th year of Our father of Nation’s return to India from South Africa. The chief guest of the 13th PBD would be Guyana President Donald Ramotar.
Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) is celebrated on 9th January every year to mark the contribution of Overseas Indian community in the development of India. During the event, individuals of exceptional merit are honoured with the prestigious Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award to appreciate their role in India’s growth. The event also provides a forum for discussing key issues concerning the Indian Diaspora.
