Punjab National Bank (PNB), India’s first Swadeshi Bank and a premier state-owned bank, launched 34 new banking products and services, marking its 131st foundation day (12 April, 2025) at its Headquarters in Dwarka, New Delhi (Delhi).
- The 34 new offerings include 12 customer-centric deposit schemes and 10 digital transformation products, reinforcing PNB’s commitment to financial inclusion and digital innovation.
- The customer-centric deposit schemes target salaried professionals, women, defence personnel, farmers, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), senior citizens, students, and youth,
- The digital transformation products include a Quick Response (QR)-based customer feedback, live-chat assistant “Pihu,” and new internal banking functionalities for enhanced customer service.

The event was attended by M Nagaraju, Secretary, Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance (MoF); Ashok Chandra, Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), PNB; Kalyan Kumar, M. Paramasivam, Bibhu Prasad Mahapatra, and D. Surendran. Executive Directors (EDs) of PNB, among others.
Flagship Product Highlights:
i.PNB offers four variants of salary savings accounts: Neo Salary Account, Excel Salary Account, Optima Salary Account, and Imperial Salary Account.
ii.PNB Women Power Scheme (Pearl, Emerald, Solitaire)
iii.PNB Kisan Saving Fund (Harit, Samriddhi)
iv.PNB Rakshak Plus (for armed forces and police)
v.PNB Samman Account (for senior citizens and pensioners)
Digital Banking Enhancements:
i.PNB rolled out new technology-driven services like:
- Single window Dematerialised (Demat) and trading account onboarding
- Digital loan facilities against deposit
- WhatsApp-based Fixed Deposit (FD) bookings
- Enhancements to the PNB One Biz application (app).
ii.Other key digital initiatives include:
- Goods and Services Tax (GST) Express Loans for new-to-bank customers (up to Rs 1 crore)
- Digital Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (Digi MSME) Loans (up to Rs 25 lakh)
- Self-onboarding for Savings and Public Provident Fund (PPF) accounts
- Loans for rooftop solar installations.
CSR Initiatives:
i.In alignment with its social responsibility vision, PNB, in partnership with PNB PRERNA, unveiled new Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives focused on education and community welfare.
- PNB PRERNA is an association comprised of senior women officials of the bank and the wives of senior bank officials, whose objective is to support the CSR initiatives of the Bank.
ii.The PNB partnered with the Bhubaneswar (Odisha)-based Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) Foundation, the largest tribal institute in the world, to support the well-being and literacy of underprivileged indigenous students of Bhubaneshwar.
iii.The PNB collaborated with Water for People India Trust, a New Delhi (Delhi)-based public charitable trust, to facilitate its “Harvest for Resilience” project.
- The PNB also donated infrastructure items to government schools in Delhi.
iv.PNB organized a Half Marathon themed ‘Cyber Run – Empowering a Secure Digital India’ to promote safe digital banking practices and raise awareness about cybersecurity among citizens.
