On October 5, 2022, the Prime Minister (PM) of India Narendra Modi visited Himachal Pradesh (HP) and launched multiple projects worth over Rs 3650 crores in Luhnu, Bilaspur, HP.
- He also participates in the famous Kullu Dussehra celebrations at Dhalpur Ground of Kullu. With this he becomes first PM to attend Kullu Dussehra.
- He also attened the cultural event organised by the Students’ Central Association of Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College at Tanda, near Dharamsala.
Launch of Projects:
The PM inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth over Rs 3,650 crore which include the following:
i.Foundation stone laid for 31-km-long project for four laning of NH-105 from Pinjore to Nalagarh, worth over Rs 1,690 crore.
ii.Foundation stone laid for the Medical Device Park at Nalagarh, which will be built at a cost of around Rs 350 crore.
iii.He dedicated All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bilaspur to ensure better health facilities. It has been established under the Central Government’s Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY).
- It is constructed at a cost of more than Rs 1,470 crore.
- It is a state-of-the-art hospital with 18 specialty and 17 super-specialty departments, 18 modular operation theatres and 750 beds, including 64 ICU (Intensive Care Unit) beds.
iv.He also inaugurate the Government Hydro Engineering College at Bandla with an outlay of about Rs 140 crore. The college will help make available trained manpower for hydro power projects in the state.
About Kullu Dussehra Festival:
The week-long International Kullu Dussehra Festival was celebrated from October 5-11, 2022 at Dhalpur Ground in Kullu. The event is unique in the sense that it is the congregation of worshippers of more than 300 deities of the valley.
it is the congregation of more than 300 Deities of the Valley. On the first day of the Festival, the Deities in their well decorated palanquins pay their obeisance at the temple of the Chief Deity Bhagwan Raghunath Ji and then proceed to the Dhalpur Ground.
