PM Narendra Modi Embarks on a 3-day Visit to MP, Bihar & Assam

The Prime Minister (PM) of India Narendra Modi embarked on a 3-day visit to Madhya Pradesh (MP), Bihar, and Assam from February 23 to 25, 2025.

  • During his visit, the PM inaugurated and laid the foundation for key infrastructure projects, attended important summits, and participated in cultural programs aimed at promoting the development and welfare of each state.

PM Narendra Modi’s visit to Madhya Pradesh:

i.Bageshwar Dham Medical and Science Research Institute: On February 23 2025, PM Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the ‘Bageshwar Dham Medical and Science Research Institute’ in Garha village, Chhatarpur district, MP.

  • This institute, with an investment of Rs 200 crore, will primarily focus on cancer treatment and provide free medical services to underprivileged patients.
  • It will be equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities and specialist doctors to cater to the medical needs of the region.

ii.Global Investors Summit 2025: On February 24 2025, PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the 2-day ‘Global Investors Summit (GIS) 2025’ in Bhopal, MP.

  • The summit witnessed the participation of over 300 industry leaders from 60 countries, with a special focus on sectors such as Pharma, Transport, Tourism, and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
  • It also includes International Sessions like the Global South countries conference, Latin America and Caribbean session and special sessions for key partner countries.
  • The event included key industrial exhibitions such as the ‘Auto Show’ and ‘Textile and Fashion Expo’ and “One District-One Product” (ODOP) Village to showcase MP’s unique craftsmanship and cultural heritage.
  • Union Minister Amit Shah, Ministry of Home Affairs(MHA) and Ministry of Cooperation (MoC) addressed the closing ceremony of Global Investors Summit-2025, Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) worth a total of Rs. 30,77,000 crore were signed.

PM Narendra Modi’s visit to Bihar:

i.PM KISAN Scheme: On February 24, 2025, PM Narendra Modi released the ‘19th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Scheme’ in Bhagalpur, Bihar.

  • He also unveiled the development projects worth over Rs.2,000 crore for Bihar.

ii.Inauguration of Development Projects: PM Narendra Modi inaugurated several key projects, including:

  • The Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Indigenous Breeds in Motihari (Bihar) built under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission (RGM) and the ‘Milk Product Plant’ in Barauni (Bihar) benefiting over 3 lakh milk producers.
  • PM also dedicated the doubling of the ‘Warisaliganj-Nawada-Tilaiya’ rail section, valued at over Rs 526 crore, along with the ‘Ismailpur-Rafiganj Road Over Bridge’ which aims to improve transportation and connectivity in Bihar.

iii.Promotion of Farmer Welfare: During the visit, PM Narendra Modi marked the formation of the 10,000th Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), registered in Khagaria district(Bihar) which will focus on maize, banana, and paddy cultivation.

  • In 2020, the Government of India(GoI) has launched the Central Sector Scheme(CSS) for “Formation and Promotion of 10,000 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs)” with a total outlay of Rs.6,865 crore.

PM Narendra Modi’s visit to Assam:

i.Jhumoir Binandini (Mega Jhumoir): On February 24, 2025, PM Narendra Modi attended the ‘Jhumoir Binandini (Mega Jhumoir) 2025’, a cultural event celebrating Assam’s tea industry and its 200 years of industrialization in Guwahati, Assam.

  • The event featured 8,000 performers showcasing the traditional ‘Jhumoir dance’ of Assam’s Tea Tribe and Adivasi Communities.

ii.Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit: On February 25, 2025, PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the ‘Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit 2025’ in Guwahati.

  • The event featured 7 ministerial sessions and 14 thematic sessions aimed at boosting Assam’s position as an economic and investment hub.
  • The event was held from February 25 to 26, 2025, brought together 240 exhibitors showcasing the state’s industrial growth, global trade, and the thriving MSME sector.
  • During the event, several MoUs worth Rs. 1,24,335 crore were signed across various sectors, including Renewable Energy (RE), infrastructure, healthcare, education, and skill development.
