PFC board clears RS Dhillon's appointment newOn May 29, 2020, State-run Power Finance Corporation (PFC) announced the appointment of Ravinder Singh Dhillon as chairman and Managing Director (CMD) from June 1, 2020. He will be the successor of Rajeev Sharma as he retires on May 31, 2020.

Background:

i.Rajeev Sharma spent his glorious career spanning nearly 4 decades in the company. He has been instrumental in PFC’s transformation as one of India’s largest financial and lending institutions in the power sector.

ii.PFC is one of the largest profit-making CPSE (Central public sector enterprises) on a consolidated basis.    

About RS Dhillon:

i.Ravinder Singh Dhillon will hold the post of CMD in PFC till the day of his superannuation on May 31, 2023.

ii.Dhillon currently serves as Director (Projects) in the PFC and has more than 35 years of experience in various areas of the power sector.

iii.In the PFC, he has worked in various capacities for over 25 years, handling Project Appraisal, Business Development, Stressed Assets Revival & Monitoring of projects.

iv.Dhillon was associated as Director in development of Mundra Ultra Mega Power Project.

v.Education: He is an Electrical Engineer with post-graduation in Power Systems from IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) Delhi. Dhillon had worked with Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) and Central Electricity Authority prior to joining the PFC.
