Pakistan bans Jamaat-ud-Dawa and Haqqani network

Due to the pressure from the US, Pakistan has banned the Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) and the Haqqani network.  The Ministry has also banned groups like Harkat-ul-Jihad Islami, Falah-i-Insaniat Foundation, Haji Khairullah Hajji Sattar Money Exchange, Rahat Limited, Al Akhtar Trust.. etc.

The Haqqani Network was indulged in heinous attacks on the US-led foreign forces in Afghanistan. The network was founded by Jalaluddin Haqqani and was designated as a terrorist organization by the US in September 2012.

Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) – was formed in 1985 by Hafiz Mohammed Saeed and Zafar Iqbal as a small missionary group. US has JuD as an affiliate organization of Pakistan based Lakshar-e-Taiba.
