Union Minister Amit Shah, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Ministry of Cooperation , was on a two-day visit to Gujarat from August 30 to 31, 2025, to participate in celebration events and to inaugurate and launch various development projects.

Highlights of the Visit:

During his visit to Gujarat, Union Minister Amit Shah inaugurated Urban Health Centres, Jan Rakshak Projects, redeveloped Sardar Baug Garden, and led a Plantation Drive.

Urban Health Centre: Inaugurated two Urban Health Centres in the Gota Ward, built at a cost of approximately Rs.3.84 crores, and Chandoliya Ward, built at a cost of approximately Rs.3.76 crores, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

  • It offers various healthcare services under Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), Ayushman Bharat (AB), Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts (ABHA) card facilities, maternal and child healthcare, pediatrics, immunization, and other services.

Plantation Drive: He led a plantation drive along with the Chief Minister (CM) of Gujarat Bhupendra Patel under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative, encouraging citizens to plant trees in honor of their mothers.

  • The drive was organized by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) at Ayushman Van in Ghatolia ward of Ahmedabad.

Jan Rakshak Projects:

Dial-112 ERSS: He launched the Dial-112 Janrakshak Emergency Response Support System (ERSS), a single toll-free emergency response number, integrating police, fire, ambulance, women and child helplines, and disaster response into a single streamlined platform.

  • It replaces multiple toll-free numbers with an aim to simplify assistance during critical situations.
  • The Gujarat Government will allocate Rs. 92 crore per year to operate the Dial-112 Emergency Response Support System.

Janrakshak Vehicles: He flagged off a fleet of 500 specially equipped Janrakshak vehicles, deployed across Gujarat to quickly respond to emergency calls. The vehicles are equipped with Global Positioning System(GPS) trackers, wireless systems, first-aid kits, and digital connectivity, enabling real-time monitoring and rapid response.

SERC: As part of the initiative, a State Emergency Response Centre (SERC) has been operational 24×7 in Ahmedabad.

  • The call center, equipped with 150 seats, is linked to all emergency and public services via an integrated system.

Sardar Baug Garden: 

Event:Inaugurated the redeveloped Sardar Baug Garden in Jamalpur, Ahmedabad.

Garden: The garden, spanning approximately 26,050 square metres (sq m), was redeveloped under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Model, with funding support of Rs.12 crores from the UNM foundation.
