Foundation stone of Defence Corridor in UP laid by PM
PM Modi on his visit to Jhansi laid foundation stone of Defence Corridor which will create a lot of direct and indirect employment to the youth in the region.
Key Points
- The Defence Corridor will make India independent in defence production. The project will also attract many foreign and domestic Defence related companies to invest in the region.
- Government decided to establish 2 defence corridors in the country, one at Tamil Nadu and the other in Uttar Pradesh. Jhansi is one among six nodal points of the UP defence corridors.
Foundation stone of Piped Water Scheme for rural areas of Bundelkhand laid by PM
PM Modi with a view to ensure water supply to the drought prone Bundelkhand region laid foundation stone of Piped Water Scheme for the rural areas of the region. It will provide drinking water through piped connection to every house.
Pahari Dam Modernization Project inaugurated by PM
PM Modi on his Jhansi visit inaugurated Pahari Dam Modernization Project. The dam is on Dhasan River which is a right bank tributary of Betwa River.
Key Points
- The modernization will reduce the leakage of water from the dam and make more water available for the farmers which will be helpful to those farmers depending on water from the river.
- Pahari Dam was constructed in 1912 on Dhasan river in Jhansi district. The water is mainly used for irrigation purposes.
PM inaugurated electrification of Jhansi -Khairar section
The 297km long Jhansi – Khairar section electrification project inaugurated by PM Modi on his visit to Jhansi. The project will help to reduce carbon emission, lead to faster trains and a sustainable environment. It would also create lot of employment opportunities which will lead to the overall development.
