Overview of PM Narendra Modi’s Visit to AP and TN on November 19, 2025

On 19th November 2025, Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi visited Andhra Pradesh(AP) and Tamil Nadu(TN) to pay tribute to spiritual traditions and support farmers’ welfare programs.

  •  During the visit, he took part in the Centenary Celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai Baba in Puttaparthi(AP), and inaugurated the South India Natural Farming Summit in Coimbatore(TN).

Event: During his visit to Puttaparthi, PM Narendra Modi visited the holy shrine and Mahasamadhi of Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba for the Centenary Celebrations.

Key People: Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Union Ministers Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, Ministry of Civil Aviation(MoCA);G Kishan Reddy, Ministry of Coal and Ministry of Mines were present at the event.

Commemorative Coin: During the event, PM Narendra Modi released a commemorative Rs 100 coin and a set of stamps to honour the life, teachings, and legacy of the late spiritual leader Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

  • About Coin: The commemorative Rs 100 coin is circular, 44  millimeter(mm) in diameter, and made of a quaternary alloy consisting of 50% silver, 40% copper, 5% nickel, and 5% zinc.
  • The obverse side features the Ashoka Pillar (Lion Capital) at the centre, with “Satyamev Jayate” below, “भारत” (Bharat) in Devanagari on the left, “INDIA” on the right, and the “₹” symbol with the value “100”.
  • The reverse side displays a portrait of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba in the centre, flanked by the year “1926” on the left and “2026” on the right. Around the top periphery is the inscription in Devanagari “भगवान श्री सत्य साई बाबा की जन्म शताब्दी”, while the bottom bears the English text “Birth Centenary of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.”
  • About Stamp: A miniature sheet comprising four commemorative postage stamps was also released, with each stamp denominated at Rs. 5.00. The stamps feature images of Sri Sathya Sai Baba and the institutions established by the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust.

Visit to TN:

Event: On November 19, 2025, PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the South India Natural Farming Summit 2025 in Coimbatore, TN.

  • The summit had more than 50,000 farmers, scientists, agricultural experts and natural-farming practitioners from TN, Puducherry, Kerala, Telangana, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh (AP).

Organised by: The summit was organised by the TN Natural Farming Stakeholders Forum during 19th to 21st November, 2025.

Purpose: It aims to promote sustainable, eco-friendly and chemical-free  agricultural practices and to accelerate the shift towards natural and regenerative farming as a viable, climate-smart and economically sustainable model for India’s agricultural future.

PM-KISAN: During the event, PM Narendra Modi released the 21st installment under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme.

  • There was a massive direct benefit transfer of over Rs 18,000 crore (cr) directly into the bank accounts of more than 9 cr farmer beneficiaries across India.

About Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN):

Launch: It was officially launched by PM Narendra Modi on 24 February 2019.

Significance: It is one of the world’s largest Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Schemes, designed to provide substantial income support to all eligible landholding farmer families.

Financial Assistance: Under the scheme, each beneficiary family receives a total financial assistance of Rs 6,000 per annum.

  • This amount is paid out in three equal installments of Rs 2000, disbursed every four months.
