The 69th Hyundai Filmfare Awards (Filmfare Awards 2024) was held in Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) in Gandhinagar, Gujarat from 27th to 28th January 2024.
- The Filmfare Awards 2024 were presented in partnership with the Gujarat Tourism, Government of Gujarat.
Filmfare Awards 2024:
i.The Curtain Raiser of the Filmfare Awards 2024 was held on 27th January 2024 at Mahatma Mandir Convention & Exhibition Centre in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
ii.Hosts: The Curtain Raiser event was co-hosted by Karishma Tanna and Aparshakti Khurana; while the Award ceremony was co-hosted by Karan Johar, Ayushmann Khurrana, and TV anchor Maniesh Paul.
Highlights:
i.Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s directorial venture “12th Fail” won 5 awards at the 69th Filmfare Awards 2024, including Best Film and Best Director.
ii.Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s “Animal” movie also won 5 awards including Best Actor In A Leading Role (Male) and Best Music Album.
Special Awards:
Lifetime Achievement Award:
Indian Film Director and Editor David Dhawan was conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award 2024 for his immense contributions to Indian cinema.
- He has directed more than 40 movies over 4 decades.
RD Burman Award for Upcoming Music Talent:
Shreyas Puranik won the RD Burman Award for Upcoming Music Talent 2024 for the song “Satranga” from the movie “Animal“.
- The award introduced in 1995 was named in honour of the music director the late R.D. Burman.
- It is presented annually to a new and upcoming talent in the Bollywood music industry to acknowledge his/her talent in the film industry.

i.The Filmfare Awards is annually presented by The Times Group to honour the excellence of both artistic and technical professionals in the film industry of India.
