Overview of 2nd Edition of IN’s Commanders’ Conference Held in New Delhi

The 2nd edition of Indian Navy (IN)’s biannual Commanders’ Conference (CC) 2025 was held from October 22 to 24, 2025 at Nausena Bhawan in New Delhi, Delhi.

Highlights of IN’s Commanders’ Conference 2025:

Key Addresses: The conference started with the inaugural address by Dinesh Kumar (DK) Tripathi, Chief of Naval Staff (CNS). While addressing the event, he highlighted the IN’s role in protecting national maritime interests through preparedness, adaptability, and regional engagement.

  • Union Minister Rajnath Singh, Ministry of Defence (MoD) Anil Chauhan, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, Chief of Air Staff(CAS) addressed and interacted with the Naval Commanders.

Key Launches: Some of the key initiatives launched during the conference:

  • Release of Publications: The Regulations for Naval Armament Service, Government e Marketplace (GeM) Handbook, and the Foreign Cooperation Roadmap.
  • NIPUN Portal: During the conference, Naval Intellectual Portal for Unified Knowledge (NIPUN), a one-stop-solution portal was launched. It is an online aggregator of intellectual work of the naval fraternity in various domains.

Sagar Manthan 2025: On the sidelines of the IN’s CC 2025, Sagar Manthan 2025 was held on October 22, 2025. The event brought together commanders, subject matter experts, and thought leaders, to discuss on contemporary issues.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Inaugurated Key Digital & Welfare Initiatives at ACC in Rajasthan

In October 2025, Union Minister Rajnath Singh, MoD inaugurated key digital and welfare initiatives during the Army Commanders’ Conference (ACC) held at Jaisalmer in Rajasthan. These initiatives reinforce the Indian Army (IA)’s vision of a Decade of Transformation.

Highlights of Army Commanders’ Conference (ACC):

Key Dignitaries: Anil Chauhan, CDS; Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS), and all Army Commanders were present at the conference.

Key Discussions: During ACC, he also reviewed the security situation and the operational preparedness of the Indian Army (IA) and also, detailed discussions were held on key issues like: grey zone warfare, the roadmap for synergy between the forces, Aatmanirbharta and innovation.

Visit to Forward Areas: He also visited the forward areas of Tanot and Laungewala in Rajasthan.

About Key Initiatives Launched:

Edge Data Centres: These are established for the Konark and Fire & Fury Corps, marking a major step in bolstering the IA’s digital infrastructure.

  • These newly inaugurated centres will enable faster, secure, and low-latency data processing, for real-time operational decision-making.

Equipment Help Line (EHL) Portal: This new portal facilitates Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled maintenance support and real-time technical assistance across the force.

Sainik Yatri Mitra App: During the conference, Union Minister Rajnath Singh also unveiled the ‘Sainik Yatra Mitra App’, which digitizes the management of Defence Duty Quota (DDQ) seats across more than 1,200 trains through the Army Mobile Aadhaar App Network (ARMAAN) platform.

  • This newly launched app aims to ensure transparency and convenience for travel by serving personnel.

Other Key Highlights:

Inauguration of Chandpuri Hall: He also inaugurated Chandpuri Hall’, an audio-visual room,in Laungewala, Rajasthan.

  • It was established in the memory of Major (later Brigadier) Kuldip Singh Chandpuri who led the gallant defence during the Battle of Laungewala in 1971.

Reviewed Thar Shakti Exercise: During his visit to Longewala for the Thar Shakti Exercise, Union Minister Rajnath Singh witnessed a dynamic ‘Capability Demonstration Exercise’, which showcased integrated employment of new organisations in IA such as: the Bhairov Battalion and Ashni Platoon.

  • The new Bhairov Battalion is scheduled to be officially deployed in the IA on November 01, 2025.
