Oscar winning author Michael Blake passes away

At the age of 69 in Tucson Arizona,Oscar winning author, Michael Blake passed away after his long struggle with cancer.He won the coveted Nobel Prize for his novel ”Dances With Wolves”.

In 1990 that novel was made into a movie that was a major hit and earned Blake an Oscar award for his exceptional screenplay.

• The movie had won 7 Oscars including Best Picture category. For his script Michael Blakes also won the WGA award and Golden Globes.
• Dances With Wolves was Blake’s best novel  and over 5 million copies were sold and was translated into 15 languages.
• He also had written several other novels that advocated for many causes including literacy, National American History, and disappearing Of Wild Horses.
• He was born in North Carolina, live with his family in Texas and finally settled in South Carolina.
• His other major novels are The Holy Road,Airman Mortensen,Indian Yell etc.
• His autobiography is like a running dog, which has detailed his career in writing and Hollywood.
