Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik Launched Electricity Consumer Service Portal “Mo Bidyut” & Mobile App

Patnaik launches service portal, mobile app for electricity consumersOn 19th October 2020 Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister of Odisha launched the electricity consumer service portal “Mo Bidyut” and mobile application, over a virtual platform. The portal was developed by the Energy Department and dedicated to the public under the 5T (Team work, Transparency, Technology, Time leading to Transformation) mechanism, an initiative of the government of Odisha.

Mo Bidyut:

i.The Mo Bidyut portal will ensure efficient, time bound and transparent online service delivery.

ii.The portal is available in both English and Odia.

iii.The integrated online platform covers all the four power utilities of Odisha – TP (Tata Power) Central Odisha Distribution Limited(TPCODL), North Eastern Electricity Supply Company of Odisha Limited(NESCO), Western Electricity Supply Company of Orissa Limited (WESCO) and Southern Electricity Supply Company of Odisha Limited (SOUTHCO).

Features:

i.This portal will benefit around 89 lakh electricity consumers of the state.

ii.The Mo Bidyut supports the people to obtain new electricity connections, enables online bill payment and the grievances related to electricity services can be addressed through this portal.

iii.Under Mo Bidyut, permanent connection up to 5 Kilo Watt (KW), single Phase for domestic, general purpose and specified public purpose like irrigation, pumping and agriculture will be provided 48 hours after the submission of application with payment.

iv.The electricity services provided by the Mo Bidyut will be governed and monitored under the “Mo Sarkar” (My Government).

On 31st August 2020, Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister of Odisha, launched two citizen-centric mobile applications Ama Sahar and Swachha Sahar Odisha on the occasion of Local Self Government Day which was observed at the Lok Seva Bhawan over a virtual platform. These apps enable the Urban Local Bodies(ULBs) to submit the utilisation certificates over online for the betterment of fiscal management.
